A Conversation with Armani White: A True Gem in The Industry

Here at Lyrical Lemonade, we pride ourselves on highlighting the gems that are circulating throughout the musical world. This is sometimes a hard thing to do when you take into account all of the facades and copy catters that are constantly coming and going. Nevertheless though, our mission remains the same as we strive to bring the best talent to our pages day in and day out. That said, today, I’m extremely excited to bring to our pages one of those gems. If you haven’t heard of Armani White, then let this be the last day you are able to say that. The West Philadelphia rapper has been taking the Hip-Hop world by storm and he’s truly just getting started. Out of all of the rappers I catch myself listening to Armani exudes a certain poise and realness that can only described as infectious. Once you listen to him, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. A couple of days ago, I got the chance to hop on the phone with White to get a deeper look into who he is as a person and an artist; The interview was one of the most fun that I’ve had in a …

NeverMore – [Sydny August]

I apologize because I am a couple of weeks late to this release, but recently Chicago songstress Sydny August blessed her fanbase with a brand new EP titled “NeverMore”. This tape was the follow up to her UNI project that was featured on our Top 50 Chicago Projects of 2019 list, leaving her with two fantastic tapes in 2019, both having her classic slow-paced, melodic & radio hit type of smooth R&B jams. This EP finds Sydny August really exploring her past relationships and what might have gone wrong, speaking on the trials & tribulations for dealing with a heartbreak as well as bouncing back, making music that I am sure many people that can relate to. Sydny truly had an amazing year musically in 2019 and I only expect to see her have an even better year in 2020, but until we get more new material from her go ahead + stream her latest tape below.

Turning the page into the next decade, our fourth edition of the “Top 50 Chicago Projects of the Year” list marks a special occasion. A strong representation of the talent in Chicago, solidifying the city as a front runner in the trend-setting landscape of hip-hop. If there’s any city presenting some of music’s premier faces, both old and new, it’s Chicago, just as we aim to capture on this list. Break – [Sydny August]

Chicago songstress Sydny August has been teasing her growing fan base with a new release all week long, and earlier today she followed through with her brand new offering titled “Break” and it’s a soothing cut. This record is a slow and steady, R&B sounding love ballot that Sydny truly shined on, delivering a memorable hook as well as some reflective verses on top of that. I see this release as the cherry on top of Sydny August’s already phenomenal 2019, she has already blessed us with tons of great content, but this release here feels a solid wrapping up to a great year. Stream this brand new tune via Soundcloud below and if you enjoy it then follow Sydny August here. Produced by Castle

Premiere: Good Energy – [Brandt Orange]

One of my favorite artists of all time is a guy named Brandt Orange. If the name doesn’t sound familiar to you, then this is your chance to get acquainted with this special talent. The LA based singer/songwriter just released a ballad today that will have everyone wondering why they haven’t hopped on the wave yet. “Good Energy” is a track that represents just that…good energy. As soon as you press play, Brandt’s captivating voice and eclectic style will whisk you away to another state of mind. The seamless guitar strum matched with the beautiful integrated harmonies makes this a song that stands out above the other titles circulating through streaming platforms. I’ve honestly never heard a singer who sings with more soul and emotion than Brandt. He has a way of making sure the listener feels every single note that comes from his mouth. His music is nothing short of a blessing and I’m so glad I get to share this brand new release with y’all. As always, I could go on and on about this song but it’s imperative that y’all give this one a listen and let it speak for itself. I’m so excited for this one! …

45 – [Sydny August]

You might recall earlier this year when we featured Sydny August in a brand new interview surrounding the release of her uni project, and this afternoon the Chicago native is back with her latest effort titled “45”. If you follow the Chicago scene closely then you surely are aware about the skills that Sydny August possess, she had been building her brand + mastering he craft over the past few years all while getting a college degree, not to mention dropping some memorable songs & tapes. I have been covering Sydny for almost half a decade now so I have became accustom to the music she provides, so when she hinted that this new two track pack was what she considering some of her most experimental music yet, I was super eager to hear what all of the hype was about! It’s clear that all of the hard work + hours that she has been putting in has been paying off, because these two records was fantastic, easily some of her best work yet in my opinion. The sky is the limit for Sydny, it’s only a few years away before she is leading the next wave of artists out …

Are You With Me – [Sydny August] x [Chase Alex]

Chicago singer Sydny August has been doing a solid job so far in 2019, and she had been teasing a new remix to “Are You With Me” featuring Chase Alex on socials for some time now, and just a couple of weeks ago she unleashed the final product. The slow and steady production on this joint was handled by IAmSammyJ set off the track on a great note, and Sydny came through with some straight R&B vibes to compliment her always stellar vocals, and Alex’s feature on the back end was a refreshing twist to put the cherry on top. Stream this brand new song below and if you like it then be sure to share it with a friend!

Personal – [Oswin Benjamin]

A writer, rapper and singer that goes by the name of Oswin Benjamin is making his Lyrical Lemonade debut today with the release of his brand new music video for “Personal”. Born in Brooklyn and raised in upstate Newburgh, Oswin spent a great amount of time during his upbringing in the church choir, eventually flipping those musical skills and becoming a super talented lyricist & top notch emcee. It’s not everyday that you see an extremely well put together, fire filled (literally flames) music video that features one of the dopest upcoming rappers, but here it is! This record is off of Oswin Benjamin’s last full length effort called Godfrey, which led me to go back and sit down to give the project my upmost attention, so trust me when I say that it’s solid from front to back. I highly suggest you stream the album after you check out this brand new music video, so don’t waste any more time, press play below.

Insurgence – [Juntao]

This evening we have an artist that goes by the moniker of Juntao is making his first appearance on our lemon filled pages with his brand new tape titled “Insurgence”. I love browsing through the submissions because you can find plenty of talent, but the most interesting part to me is that most times it’s not even the artist him or herself sending the music, in this case is was actually the mother of Juntao who sent a nice email about her son and sure enough I enjoyed the music! The best part though, he’s from Chicago! Do yourself a huge favor and press play below.

Sydny August: One Of Chicago’s Gems is Continuing to Thrive

Sydny August is one artist out of Chicago that we have been covering since damn near the beginning, and if you are a hardcore & long time LL supporter you may remember way back when we first did a Q&A with Sydny in November of 2016, but today she is back as the feature of a brand new interview piece! Obviously Sydny has grown since the last time we sat down for a interview, at the time she was barely out of high school and was just getting started in her music career, and now she has become one of Chicago’s best young singers & is well on her way to a degree in English Creative Writing at University Of Kansas. About a month ago Sydny released her latest project titled Uni (You and I), and it is easily one of my favorite tapes to come out of the city this year, so I recently sat down with her to catch up with everything she has been doing and get a closer look at the idea that became this project. Stream her brand new project via Spotify  + watch her new visual below while you read through the interview, and …
