HEADSHOT – [Rockstar Payso]

Brooklyn, NY artist Rockstar Payso is making his Lyrical Lemonade debut today with his unforgettable new Modern Day Auteur visual that features the artist in a chaotic and vibrant manner, complete with him and his guys turning up on the block to the song to him and an army of strippers being down-poured on by a flood of bills. Payso’s flow is laid-back and his almost whisper-like delivery creates an atmosphere of suspense that builds into excitement as the song picks up. I am looking forward to hearing more from Rockstar Payso and really enjoyed this visual and am eager to see what he has for us next.

Gravestone – [Tuxx]

For those who know me, you know just how much I enjoy the crossover between rock and hip-hop. While I grew up on bands like AC/DC, Greenday, and Blink-182, I moved into rap and hip-hop in my middle school and high school years, and now seeing artists bringing these genres together just makes everything come full circle for me. When the homie Sam McGrath hit me up and said he was shooting a visual for LA by way of Arizona artist Tuxx, I had no clue exactly what to expect, but after tuning into “Gravestone”, I was as impressed as I’ve ever been. Considering he has worked with hitmakers like Nick Mira, PAYSO, Baker, Playdoe, and Sam Thraxx in the past, I knew I was in for a treat, and considering the last three producers brought this hit to life, I was even more excited. It’s clear that there is a pop-punk influence behind his vocals that combine with the guitar-forward …

Brooklyn’s Rockstar Payso has always been an artist serving up energetic and aggressive tracks that have given him a reputation as one of the borough’s best budding acts. This year, Payso has shown us a new side to his sound bringing a softer melodic element to the music he’s been releasing. He recently dropped a strong new song titled “Emerald” that is a low key bouncy single that is sure to fit well in your playlists as we wind down this crazy summer. Rockstar Payso works incredibly well when he can use the drum pattern to end each line of his verses most impactfully. We see this on his older, more hype tracks but even when he slows things down this talent still shines through. The visuals to accompany the single release help bring to life the dark energy of this song, Payso always pays close attention to detail when it comes to videos, “Emerald is no exception. Rockstar Payso has shown us just how versatile he is, with more strong singles planned to close out 2020 be on the lookout for what else the talented artist has in store!
