New Music Friday With $NOT, BabyK Osama, Rich Amiri, and Yella Beezy!

Friday is always the best day of the week with new releases from some of our favorite artists! First up we have 19-year-old BabyK Osama with his latest single “Ticket” on all streaming platforms. The Simple Stupid / Geffen Records signee has been making some noise ever since he was released from prison last spring. In a short span of time, the Jacksonville rapper has released five projects and hasn’t shown any signs of letting up anytime soon. In the visuals for his latest single, BabyK Osama was surrounded by exotic cars as he raps over a feverish instrumental. His signature Jacksonville flow mixed with his blazing wordplay created a head-spinning single. I look forward to watching his career advance this year! Gold-selling recording artist Yella Beezy delivered his latest mixtape titled Bad Azz Yella Boy. Yella rose to fame in 2017 after releasing his mixtape Lite Work, Volume which included his hit record “That’s On Me” which debuted at 37 on Billboard’s Hot 100 charts and earned 200M+ video views. His career has been a journey, but his latest mixtape is a testimony of all the work Yella has been putting in and finally enjoying the seeds of his …

Time Machine – [Electric Tongues]

With rappers like Yella Beezy, Asian Doll, and G.U.N. leading the charge, the Dallas rap scene is starting to get some real attention, but there is more to the Dallas scene than just rap. Thanks in part to Luna Luna, Pretty Boy Aaron, and Boy Orange Films, I’ve been put on to the bubbling indie rock/pop scene in the Lone Star State as well. Here, the aforementioned video makers, Boy Orange Films, linked up with Electric Tongues to bring to life the catchy and charismatic effort, “Time Machine.” Rooted in pop and driven by synths, “Time Machine” has a light and easy feel, but there’s a dangerous potency to it; especially in regards to the intoxicatingly catchy hook. Boy Orange Films captures the essence of the track, as well as it’s glossy, fun ambiance with a creative video centered around a retro-twinged talent show. The root of any good “scene” is an authentic, collaborative community, and, brimming with a natural charm, “Time Machine” is just another example that Dallas is well on its way.

Rich MF – [Yella Beezy]

In general, when thinking of the music scene down in Texas, my mind tends to resort to the styles and sounds coming out of Houston. But this isn’t all that Texas has to offer — in fact, there’s something seriously notable going on in Dallas right now, and budding star Yella Beezy is here to make sure we know about it with his latest music video for “Rich MF.” First things first — as I’m sure you might have been able to tell by the sound of this one — “Rich MF” is produced by none other than the legend himself, Pharrell. Few and far in between are the artists who can boast a Pharrell production spot, so in case you didn’t think Beezy was on like that, I just wanted to make sure you were well-informed. Second off, considering the unique sound of the beat and its eclectic, haunting, and downright catchy style, it’s easy to understand why the new video for “Rich MF” has done such high numbers over the last few days. Yella Beezy’s luxurious look and effortless charisma simply can’t be touched, and the expensive, ice-cold aesthetic of “Rich MF” is sure to attest. That said, in …

LL Presents: The Quin Nfn Q&A

When the Lyrical team was out at SXSW this past year we met an Austin, Texas based artist named Quin Nfn at the interview with Nardwuar, and he has become a favorite of ours rather quickly since that point. He has been releasing some good music for a minute now and his new project has been doing very well, he is still a teenager at this point so you can only image the growth that we are about to witness, I predict in a few years he is one of the biggest rappers in his state. Take a few minutes below to check out the new Q&A we did featuring Quin Nfn, and be sure to give Quin a follow on Twitter here to keep up with his future releases!     EM: Before we dive into the questions, give a brief description of yourself for our readers who may not be familiar with you. Quin: I’m a 17 year old youngin from East Austin (da 4 to be exact) trying to make a way for me and my people by making music. Being an artist has always been my dream and my music is about what I’ve seen and lived. I …

Have You Ever – [DJG.O] x [Yella Beezy]

The city of Dallas seems to be in an uproar with a plethora of emerging artists. Several artists are taking advantage of illuminating North Texas music scene. Emerging at the right time, DJG.O heats up the already scorching streets of the city with the hot single, Have You Ever featuring one of Dallas’ most talked about artists, Yella Beezy. Have You Ever is a song that highlights specific, real-life instances that can be translated to that of one living a “fast life”. DJG.O’s has noticeable past experiences, involving run ins with the Federal Government. Being charged with money laundering, one can see how this body of work may have came to fruition. Formally known as GO during his brief music stint before getting caught up at age 19, DJG.O reemerges to the music scene after paying his dues to the Feds. This time around he comes with a new found addition of being not only a rapper but also a DJ with a strong promotion team behind him that goes by “Da Gang”. Being a DJ is his way of showcasing his musical appreciation across the board. The video for Have You Ever is absolutely hilarious. In a blast 50 years …
