Way That I Live – [YSN Fab]

Most music listeners find out about an artist in a variety of ways, but as far as I can tell, they just tap in with new releases and run back their favorite songs without giving it a second thought. I guess this is where I differ because even before I became a writer here at Lyrical Lemonade, I loved to dive into their background and see what they were up to before making music as well as reviewing the major moments throughout their career thus far. Another statistic I find intriguing is seeing their popularity in different countries because considering I’ve never been out of the United States, I just find it hard to believe that places all the way across the world listen to music from America, even though I know that’s totally normal. When I was sent the latest YSN Fab song “Way That I Live” a few days ago, the email came with a press release with numbers and charts the Winnipeg emcee has made it onto, which turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the up and coming artist’s bio. Alongside staggering numbers like 305,000 monthly Spotify listeners, over 60 million combined streams, …

Studio Vibez – [YSN Fab]

Canada has grown as a destination for hip-hop music, but there are definitely certain provinces that seem to gain a lot more attention than other areas, but there are some emcees that mean business and want to change this narrative. If we’re looking at the country overall, it isn’t a surprise or shock to say that Toronto has taken the crown as our northern neighbor’s top music city when considering artists like Drake, The Weeknd, NAV, and plenty of others, but this doesn’t mean that people from other regions aren’t deserving of nationwide recognition. Winnipeg, Manitoba is certainly on the rise, and it’s thanks to emcees like YSN Fab, a rapper, singer, and songwriter who has been in the industry since 2018 and making bigger and bigger waves ever since. After gaining additional international attention with his album Made 4 More, he has been on the cover of playlists and was even featured on the official “Beats By Dre” playlist. This led to recognition as one of the top Canadian musicians by Sidedoor Magazine and even one of the top up-and-coming black Canadian artists by Complex. I thoroughly enjoy tapping in with his music as he drops more, and his …

helpless. – [YSN Fab]

Sometimes, if an artist isn’t all over social media and publications aren’t constantly talking about them, it can be difficult to understand exactly how much of a wave they’re actually making. While this can be frustrating at times considering I love to see rising talents win and I enjoy cheering them on and showing support along the way, I also can’t complain too much because as long as they know that their music is turning heads and getting attention, that’s all that really matters. YSN Fab is a talent from Winnipeg, Canada, and although he isn’t someone I have extensive knowledge about, I do know that the Instagram freestyles he was posting almost a half-decade ago are finally starting to pay off, and I’m super excited for him. After receiving attention from us here at LL as well as plenty of other publications, he even found himself on the official “Beats by Dre” Apple Music playlist, so if that isn’t a massive step in the right direction, then I don’t know what is. His latest song “helpless.” is just another example of his dominance behind a microphone, but there is much more to it than what meets the ear. The …

Gave Up on Love – [YSN Fab]

There are definitely certain artists who use music as a message conveyor rather than just putting out songs to be played at clubs and loudly in your car, and while I think it just depends on the listener when it comes to what they prefer, I have respect for both parties 100%. When I found out about YSN Fab not too long ago, I knew I was playing the catch-up game considering he has garnered so many plays and achievements already throughout his career, but one thing I realized right off the bat was the fact that he is definitely a storyteller as well as a person who wears his heart on his sleeve. I feel like this just makes his music so much better because it connects with fans on a much more organic level, and it is oftentimes relatable in some capacity or another. This has helped me gain a much firmer grasp of who he is as an artist but also beyond music as a person as well, and this is something that keeps me constantly coming back for every new release I find. “Gave Up on Love” is the title of his latest drop, and it …

Time Away – [YSN Fab]

I know that in a ton of my articles, I write about some of the biggest music hubs in the United States because it’s obviously where I’m from and what I know the most about. While I’m finding out about new artists on a daily basis rising through the ranks of these various regions, I would be remised if I didn’t mention just how talented some of the emcees are up in the great white north, or Canada for those who might not know the country’s nickname. Obviously, artists like Drake, NAV, The Weeknd, and other superstar-status hitmakers put on for their respective provinces, but after getting deeper into the music scene, I have come to find numerous talents who definitely deserve to share a spot in the limelight with these massive names as well. Montreal is one place that is oozing with talent, and while I constantly listen to various artists from this province, I am always interested to hear from artists in other parts of the country as well. YSB Fab is an emcee who I recently found out about, and even though I don’t know too much about him quite yet, it appears that he has a …

Get Refreshed: Roxas Hits A Hat Trick, The Unstoppable d1v, and Sam Thraxx’s Definitive Guide To Making It In The Music Industry

“Get Refreshed” is a weekly column by Billy Bugara covering all things digital in the music world. Refresh yourself here.  Cover by Brixton Yorker dark0: “shining star” I am not quite sure who would’ve ever had the following belief, but for anyone who thought London-based club producer dark0 had anything less to prove up to this point in his career, they would be coming from a place of sheer ignorance, plain and simple. The outstanding outpouring of content from this digitally-incentivized production force has been nothing short of brilliant in all regards, and the mass amount of times this notion has been proven as such should be enough to cement their status as among the greatest modern figures within his craft.  And yet, he’s nowhere close to being finished — not in the slightest. Exemplified by the Year0001-hosted single entitled “shining star,” the first off of their long-awaited debut album experience Eternity, his potential has yet to be fully revealed, which is truly saying something for us outside onlookers who have considered his past work in a near-perfect light.  But with this track being paired with the corresponding reveal of the forthcoming album’s fantasy video game concept – driven by …

Made 4 More – [YSN Fab]

How people find their way into life as a recording artist always interests me. With the rise of the internet, artists have emerged from all walks of life to find major success on a global scale. Today, I’m happy to introduce our audience to YSN Fab an emcee that took up music after a devastating injury derailed his football career. One tragedy leads to newfound talent on the road to greatness, this kind of resilience is what makes artists grind even harder to make it when their original plans were derailed in the blink of an eye. When it comes to cities in Canada, Winnipeg is probably one of the last places I expected to an album like this. As soon as I hit play I had a feeling this would be a special project from an artist hungry to prove how far he can take his city’s name now that he has a proper stage. From front to back YSN Fab’s debut project Made 4 More has his melodic talents on full display, he effortlessly glides across every beat and carefully constructs street ballads made to resonate with listeners around the world. Fab first came across my radar earlier this summer …
