Thief – [Xavier Omär] x [Sango]

With a unique sound characterized by his timelessly smooth vocal style, Xavier Omär has been on many RnB fans’ radars as an artist to watch. The San Antonio-hailing artist has laid low for most of this year but now returns with “Thief”, his first official single since recently inking a deal with RCA Records. Omär brings longtime collaborator Sango onto the track, who arms Omär with an infectious groove that his voice floats on top of seamlessly. They hit a sweet spot with familiar rhythms that will no doubt sound right at a beachside kickback and Omär’s buttery harmonies that elevate the song to a more soulful vibration. Hopefully “Thief” marks the beginning of a big chapter for Xavier Omär, and for now, listen to the new song below:

For Summer/Fall 18′-[pat junior]

A little while ago, an artist reached out to me about being featured on Lyrical Lemonade and today, he’s finally making his well-deserved debut on our site. Patrick D. Mix Jr., AKA pat junior. is an up and coming, yet polished musician from the great state of North Carolina. The writer/rapper/producer has been making music for 6 years now, with 2 of the latest years being completely full time. If you’re familiar with Xavier Omär, then it’s about time you took notice to pat junior, since he is under the same management as Xavier at Moon Artists Management.  That said, the talented east coast native just recently put together a 12 song playlist of his own work that absolutely blew me away. Generally, with that many songs, it’s easy to not pay attention to all of them; but when it comes to pat junior, each one of these 12 tracks demands to be heard! Throughout these full songs and carefully crafted instrumentals, you get a really good feel for pat’s mature production and confident lyrical flow.  I could go on and on about how dope this project is, but this is just something you’ll have to judge for yourself. I’ve attached …

Beautiful Smile – [Saba] ft. [IDK]

Following the release of “Stay Right Here” last week, Saba keeps the new music coming with yet another single. Titled “Beautiful Smile”, the Westside wordsmith takes us to the more dismal side of his discography, offering a bleak confrontation of certain aspects of his current place in life. Saba touches on how his life has changed in recent years, the shifting of relationships with people around him and the friends and family he’s lost with a level of vulnerability he’s proven masterful at time and again. His verses unfold like a screenplay, turning stories from his past and present into raps that spawn into vivid images in a listener’s mind. IDK, who dropped his exhilarating ‘IDK & Friends :)’ project just last week, absolutely demolishes his verse as well, making for a natural compliment to Saba. It’s no doubt been a big year for Saba, with the release of ‘Care For Me’ earlier this year bolstering the Chicago native’s status as one of the game’s current strongest lyricists. On “Beautiful Smile”, he keeps things unflinchingly real, making it clear he has no intentions of switching up anytime soon. Stream the new song below and catch Saba at the 2nd annual …

Stay Right Here – [Saba] ft. [Xavier Omär] & [Mick Jenkins]

It’s the first snowfall of winter in Chicago today: a much-needed reminder to stop and take account of where you’re at in life, the places and people you’re surrounded by. Saba does exactly that on “Stay Right Here”, his latest track which dropped at midnight. If you thought the Chicago native was finished with new material for the year after dropping his critically-acclaimed ‘Care For Me’ back in March, you thought wrong. The same goes for Mick Jenkins, who just dropped his ‘Pieces of a Man’ album in October and also makes an appearance on this single. “Stay Right Here” is Saba and Mick at their most introspective—a mindset they both have proven to thrive off of in the past. Saba’s long-winded flows ride the beat effortlessly as he shows gratitude in his lyrics for the love he feels. Mick takes a similar moment of reflection, delivering lines in flurrying cadences that hit with a sense of nostalgia. As a result, this track feels like a victory lap in celebration of a milestone year for two of the city’s hometown favorites and yet another reminder of the mastery of their craft.

Stay There – [Brasstracks] ft. [Xavier Omär]

If you’re ever in need for some new music that will hit your soul, look no further than Brasstracks. Today, this group is here to make their newest appearance on our pages with a triumphant, feel-good offering entitled “Stay There”. Featuring a well-placed guest spot from none other than Xavier Omär, the latest from the NYC-based band feels like a celebration of life itself. Every note, whether it stems from the impactful brass sections, the mesmerizing organs, or the perfectly executed drum patterns, showers the listener with a wave of warm-weathered, groove-filled sounds, and naturally, this single demands to be kept on repeat. The Brasstracks killed it, Omär killed it, and now, it’s up to the listeners to show some love and keep this one in heavy rotation for the weeks to come. Listen to “Stay There” below and let us know what you think in the comments!

Finally Dead- [Supa Bwe]

After a few minor setbacks and two secret thank-you EP’s to keep his hungry diehard fanbase satisfied, Supa Bwe has just released one of the best genre defying albums of 2017 with Finally Dead. The full length project sits at 16 tracks if you include the bonus songs and features familiar names such as Saba, Juju, UG Vavy, and Xavier Omar, who assist the Chicago artist with his epic “creative tomb”. Production plays a monumental role in Finally Dead, with key contributions from Luke Almighty, Jay-R Beats, TayMasterChef, LordFubu, John Scott, Yoga Flame, Derelle Rideout, ChaseTheMoney, and MoneyMontage; Supa himself produced “Numbers and Colors (Stoic Cosmic Me)” and “Clout Daddy”. He created this project in his basement with some assistance from Shepard Hues for the mixing and mastering, leading to some of his most transparent and masterful work to date. Freddy revisits past themes (the moon, DBZ, drugs, love, pain, solitude, truth) and melodies with a refined confidence while maintaining the emotional honesty in his lyrics that makes his music so addicting. Finally Dead is a combination of high octane punk rock vibes, intimate cosmic croonings, and energized bars that prove no one is covering as much ground as the 28 year old veteran. Arguably his greatest body …

Up Right Now- [Supa Bwe] x [Xavier Omar]

Supa Bwe has blessed us with a gem from his upcoming album, Finally Dead, to hold us over until the December 6th release date. “Up Right Now” is a jazz fused banger produced by Derelle Rideout that features the smooth wavy vocal stylings of Xavier Omar and Freddy’s out of this world crooning, a style that he has helped popularize over the last 10 years since he first became Supa Bwe. The authentic emotion and cosmic production present in all his work have garnered him a cult fan base who recognize his experimental contribution to the rap world. Chicago has a global effect and “Up Right Now” proves just that, press play below to hear for yourself! If you are too impatient for Finally Dead to drop like the rest of us, have no fear- you can preorder the project by Sunday to get a special EP from the Dead Bwe himself as a thank you gift. December 6th it’s all over… Photography: Bryan Allen Lamb

I Hate Being Alive – [Supa Bwe]

Chicago stand up! It’s getting to be time for new Supa Bwe music, and his latest video for the John Scott-produced “I Hate Being Alive” directed by our very own Cole Bennett is definitely indicative of the hits to come. Not only is the song an undeniable banger, but with added effects and ominous coloring to complement it, this one couldn’t get better. Supa Bwe has most certainly seen immense growth since he was last in the spotlight and based on his comments on the music to come, he sounds hungrier than ever to prove himself as the inimitable talent that his city knows to be an artist destined for stardom (“I birthed a genre once, I’ll do it again”). Based on these visuals and the aggressive tone that he’s going to the future with, I don’t recommend sleeping on Supa Bwe any longer. He simply can’t be ignored. Additionally, the rising talent blessed us with the tracklist for his upcoming album Finally Dead due for release December 6th. Check it out below along with the incredible visuals for “I Hate Being Alive”. 1. “Thot Goddess (Sailor Moon)” (Prod. by TayMasterChef) 2. “Black Goku (I Really Like You)” (Prod. by Yoga Flame) 3. …
