MF TRIMM – [Lil Gotit]

Even if I’m not a huge fan of an artist or don’t listen to them extremely often, I always respect someone who is on their grind with tons of work to show for it. Atlanta is a city known for really never sleeping because it seems like most of the musicians who call ATL home are never letting a week go by without releasing something new, but out of everyone in the southern city, Lil Gotit has proven that there is never a shortage of music to be made, and he seizes every opportunity he gets to show off his skill set, which is extensive I must add. This is the main reason why I think I write so much about him, because although I do genuinely appreciate his music, even if I didn’t, I would at least know I could count on him to give me something memorable to post about. Enjoying his tracks is just a perk, and his most recent release “MF TRIMM” is yet another new single that he put out for fans to enjoy, even though we’re not too far out from his latest album The Cheater. Nonetheless, West, 808 Jayy, and AyoJarri produced this …

Beautiful Michi Girls – [TyFontaine]

After exploding onto the underground scene in 2019 with his project Waiting On Ascension, TyFontaine has been one of the most dynamic and prolific artists within the tightly packed scene that was itching for a new beacon of artistry and someone who guide the journey of innovation into a new decade that built upon the innovation and success of the initial “SoundCloud” era. The last five years of the 2010’s saw an unbridled period of artistic achievement with so many new styles being introduced and was also the culmination of the internet, and consequently social media, upending the traditional infrastructure and barriers to entry in the music industry. There were many highs and lows in this era but I would imagine hindsight will show us that the greatest triumph of the initial SoundCloud generation was setting the sonic precedents that are still being built off of into the ’20’s and surely will be the blueprint for hip-hop, pop, and many other genres. TyFontaine’s success and talent was obvious to many after Waiting On Ascension, showing all of the melodic promise once shown by other greats, earning him comparisons to contemporary artists like Juice WRLD or even being labeled a “SoundCloud …

IN DIMES WE TRUST – [Mike Dimes]

San Antonio, Texas artist Mike Dimes, the ‘Double Lamb OG’ returns to Lyrical Lemonade with his latest album entitled IN DIMES WE TRUST. At twelve songs deep, I promise you that every single track is an absolute banger. The only features are Duke Deuce and Zay3k, which allows for Dimes to own the spotlight all the way through. With confident, braggadocious lyricism, Mike’s effortless flows align with the bass-heavy, 808 filled production. Very much containing star appeal, the official music video for”PAPARAZZI” is visual proof that Dimes isn’t shy of the limelight. In fact Mike embraces his upbringing, granted he wasn’t sure if his career would even continue just a year prior. Despite the project being more new-school sonically, none of his rap qualities are sacrificed; replay value is consistent, and the lyrics are catchy enough to quote for an instagram caption or Tik-Tok. For the most part the album’s pacing is rapid; even tracks like “LUV” and “SNOW WHITE” grow in intensity both vocally and instrumentally. The amount of beat drops and/or switch-ups makes for numerous mosh pit opportunities for fans seeing him on tour. Overall, IN DIMES WE TRUST is a fitting album title, because after hearing this record I couldn’t be …

VVRED – [SEBii]

The hyperpop scene never fails to surprise me in the best ways possible, and I never get bored for even a second no matter what artist I’m listening to. While Glaive, ericdoa, and midwxst are some of my favorites, SEBii has rapidly become one of my all-time hyperpop preferences, and it’s clear that even without all the wild vocal effects and alterations that can be heard within this subgenre, he’s as individualistic as it gets. After hearing VVBLUE a few months ago, I was completely sold without a doubt in my mind, and when I heard about and saw all the hype behind its sister project VVRED, I literally couldn’t wait. Some of the snippets and singles on this tape showed a much more arrogant, aggressive side of the typically calmed and composed artist, but I loved seeing a new side of him, and now that the project is in our hands, I can confidently say that it was undeniably worth the wait. All of the 7 songs on this 16-minute-long project are better than the last, but I had to focus on a few of my favorites considering I could write all day if I went too much into …

Crying Pt. 2-[Charlie Powers]

Oceanside, California native, Charlie Powers has been a Lyrical Lemonade favorite since early 2019, and today he returns to our pages for the release of his stellar new track called, “Crying Pt. 2”. We haven’t heard anything from Charlie in nearly a year or so, but after hearing this new offering by him, it is nothing but evidence that he’s been spending a lot of time perfecting his craft and refining his sound. Right off the bat, “Crying Pt. 2” hits incredibly hard. From the moment you press play, the production will instantly make it known that this is not the same old Charlie that we’re listening to; He’s evolved and elevated his talent in a way that will take his career to new heights. In the words of Charlie: ““Crying Pt. 2” is an anthem for people who let themselves feel. Whether you’re a man, woman, boy or girl, crying should never be something you’re ashamed of. I pray “Crying “Pt. 2 is a song that encourages everyone to wear their tears on their sleeves with confidence.” This is one of my favorites from Charlie by far and I know ya’ll will love it as well! I’ve attached the …

VVBLUE – [SEBii]

While the world of hyperpop is taking over the entire musical landscape as we know and love it, I couldn’t be more excited for the future. These artists are some of the most unique and inventive musicians that the world has ever seen, and what’s even more incredible is the fact that most of these talents are under the legal drinking age. As for SEBii, I feel like he’s way too versatile to be simply boxed into the hyperpop or glitchcore genres, so I’d say that he’s in a lane of his own that other artists haven’t even come close to touching quite yet. Although I’ve only become familiar with this wild world of music within the past few months, I have become engrossed with all of the out-of-the-box thinking individuals who make up the sonic landscape, and SEBii is at the very top of my list of favorites. While I’m used to hearing his more lighthearted, upbeat ballads that are joyous and playful, it almost seems like he steps out of his comfort zone on his latest tape VVBLUE, a 7 song, 18-minute-long effort that shows a different side of SEBii on some songs while giving us a taste …

Ash Ketchum – [THE MXXNLIGHT] x [Sledgren]

THEMXXNLIGHT connects with super-producer Sledgren for a melodic play on Pokémon’s signature phrase, “gotta catch them all.” Opened by a subtle electric guitar solo, THEMXXNLIGHT, made up of brothers Akash and Krish Chandani, delivery a wavy melodic performance that taps into an unapologetic braggadocios energy. The combination of THEMXXNLIGHT’s style alongside Taylor Gang producer Sledgren combine for a drill inspired song that uses synths, lively percussion, and an overwhelming bass line, effectively creating a club-ready anthem. Although clubs are not operating as they were, THEMXXNLIGHT appears to be eager to restore a celebratory and party-like feeling amidst everything going on. This is THEMXXNLIGHT’s first solo release since sharing their five-track Mashallah EP in July.  Listen to “Ash Ketchum” by THEMXXNLIGHT below.

Wolves – [Jensen McRae]

Songstress Jensen McRae is making her debut here on Lyrical Lemonade with her brand new music video for “Wolves”. I first heard this song on Spotify before finding my way to the new visual on YouTube, and after watching/listening to the song multiple times I was blown away by her talent. Not only does she has an amazing voice & singing ability, but she is a superb storyteller and that showed her, speaking on a tough & traumatic subject but turning it into a beautiful song. This may be the first time that Jensen McRae has been featured on our website but I can promise you that it will not be the last, check out this new visual + some of the rest of her catalog and I assure you that will not be disappointed!

uknowwhatimsayin¿ – [Danny Brown]

Danny Brown’s brand new album uknowwhatimsayin¿ is the sound of the Detroit rap artist settling into a new chapter in his life. It’s been three years since the release 2016’s Atrocity Exhibition: an off the wall rap record that has proved to be a standout from the decade due to its erratic nature, dark topical focus, and ability to push boundaries to a point where it can’t quite be classified at times.  Most have been wondering since then, how does one follow up an album like Atrocity Exhibition? Based on the singles he has released in 2019, along with his new record’s cover art and his overall appearance, all signs pointed towards a Danny that is in a better place than ever. And now after hearing uknowwhatimsayin¿ in full, that is further exemplified, as this is Danny having his most fun in years. Of course, Danny’s rapping is on point as always, and the production is top tier here, with credits from Q-Tip, Paul White, JPEGMAFIA, Flying Lotus, Thundercat, and more. Something else that stands out from this record are some extremely well-placed features, from Blood Orange to JPEGMAFIA. The JPEGMAFIA contributions in particular need to be mentioned, mostly due …
