Although there are music scenes all over the world, it’s pretty obvious that the US is pretty much the biggest pop culture influencer on the globe, at least when it comes to music. When hearing about artists from other countries, there is usually some sort of American influence in one way or another, but I love hearing about new abroad acts because they do always seem to add their own twists to sounds that we’re typically familiar with. At the end of the day, you never know what type of genre is going to catch fire in another part of the world and considering the boom of unique, uncategorized styles that are coming to the forefront in the current state of music, this mystery is at an all-time high. Most recently, I was put onto an Italian artist who goes by the name of Wikw which seems to be an acronym for the saying what I know well. Who To Camp-Out For: Mamby On The Beach

As Chicago’s remarkable festival season continues, you’ve got to be sure you do your research so you don’t miss any of the hottest performances of the summer. Mamby On The Beach is coming up this weekend and with such a line-up, I wanted to share my take on who you should be camping out for this year. Be sure to give the line-ups below a look as well to begin building your own schedule.   SATURDAY This year, Mamby packed their Saturday line-up with a ton of young talent, plenty of which are from Chicago. Some names that stood out on this day’s line-up were Raury from Atlanta, GA, as well as fellow Chicagoans Saba and Ravyn Lenae. It’s cool to see a festival with such interest in the younger wave of artists, giving festival-goers a look at what’s to come for hip-hop in the approaching years.   SUNDAY Mamby continued to offer a wide range of sound into the second and final day of their festival, offering the chance for these artists to show their sound to a not-so-familiar audience.
