Fly On The Wall – [Duffle Bag Buru]

Chicago’s own Duffle Bag Buru has built up a solid reputation and catalog as one of the cities best emcees over the past few years, but until now there was something missing, a FULL LENGTH PROJECT! I have been waiting for this (probably impatiently) for such a long time and I even got the chance to tell Buru a few times that I wanted a full length from him, so you can only image my excitement today when he unleashed his brand new project titled “Fly On The Wall”. The first couple of things that caught my attention about this tape were the interesting title and the well put together cover art, before diving into the music and within the first ten minutes I was on the edge of my seat, it is chop filled with SLAPPERS one after another the whole way through. There is a total of fifteen songs on this project and Duffle Bag Buru displayed a nice variety of different sounds on this tape, everything from hard knocking bangers to more slow tempo & introspective joints. Unfinished and Undone – [TheGoodPerry]

TheGoodPerry is fresh off of the release of his collab project with RonSoCold titled “Better Off Alone” that dropped a few weeks ago, and this afternoon he is back with a brand new project he released via Soundcloud titled “Unfinished and Undone”. As you can tell from title of this tape it’s far from finished, but it’s a dope collection of right different songs and ideas that he has been working on, and honestly there is some solid music provided here. There’s bouncy trap bangers featured on here but there is also records where you will find Perry slowing it down and getting a bit more introspective on records like “You”, you will find him speaking about life in a beautiful way that I am sure will resonate with listeners. Atlanta native, TheGoodPerry, is back with a smooth new single for us today titled, “Brandi Was Here.” Perry is known for his powerhouse production, but proves his versatility to us on this one as he kills it on the production and vocals. The melodic single is one of the best new tracks we’ve heard all month and will have anyone singing along. When thinking of a few of today’s most notable rising names in rap, brndn, Yung Bans, and TheGoodPerry certainly can’t be overlooked. Their individual waves are undeniably growing in strength and following, and with singles like their latest, “Lose Your Cool”, the fire can only be fueled and the potential can only grow. This new track from the trio definitely tries out a unique hand in their talents by resorting to a more relaxed, less trappy instrumental to set the background, and none of the three fail to rise to the occasion. Their versatility was contested, and they passed with flying colors, blessing our ears with a smooth single to keep on repeat in a variety of situations and moods. I recently got the chance to connect with Atlanta-based artist JBan$ (aka JBan$2Turnt aka Joshua Heath) to ask him a few questions in a featured Q&A for Lyrical Lemonade. A Name You Need To Know: Lil Yachty

A name that is seeming to become more familiar by the week is the 18 year old, Atlanta-bred – Lil Yachty.  In late 2015, early 2016 Yachty, AKA Lil Boat, began to build a nationwide buzz with hit track, 1 Night.  Since then he has collaborated and received cosigns from an ample amount of notable names including: Young Thug, Migos, Ian Connor & more.  He is now coming off of the release of his debut project, Lil Boat The Mixtape, which was released just under two weeks ago.  Moving forward, there is no telling what is in store for Yachty.  Although it may be difficult for some to understand, 2016 is the year where the internet age takes throttle and is in full effect.  Lil Yachty may not be for everyone, but it is inevitable that you will be hearing much more from the rising internet icon as 2016 rolls out.  Familiarize yourself below.
