FREE SOUNDs [Volume 3]

Back with volume 3 of the FREE SOUNDs column, and there’s a lot to discuss this week. Peep the lineup of songs below and if you haven’t already, check out volume 1 here and volume 2 here. – – – BEAR1BOSS BEAR1BOSS is, and has been, on another planet ever since I first heard his music — and he keeps getting better. Peep the ATL talent’s new, self-titled album here — a project best visualized as a firework, colorful and explosive in its collaging of sounds while held together by outrageously entertaining personality. “Quit” and “$$$” are favorites, but “Nike!” takes the cake for me. While Bear1 has been a stand out artist from the jump, it goes without saying that on the new project, his ideas are really coming into form. In Bear1’s world, the energy never runs out, and thus, the future is undeniably bright for one of music’s most unique minds. LAY BANKZ A friend sent me Lay Bankz a few weeks back, and “Going Down” has been on repeat ever since. It’s a melodic love song at heart, but once paired with the charged energy of a Philly/Jersey club beat, this one becomes sonically undeniable. Lay …

Scars – [Wolfacejoeyy]

I have tons of people hitting me up daily in order to send me music to check out, and while I love this usually, it can definitely get overwhelming at times. Due to this, I can’t always get to everything, but there are a few friends that have never sent me bad music even slightly, so when they send something through, I know it’s essential that I tune in. Well, the homie has sent through countless songs from Staten Island rapper/producer Wolfacejoeyy, and while I was impressed at first, I feel like I get more and more into his music with each additional record that comes across my radar. And let me tell you, plenty of music comes across both my phone and laptop screens because he seems to never leave the studio considering he drops so often, and he seems to only get better each time. Most recently, I was put onto his latest song “Scars”, an incredible track produced by Rio Leyva and ThankYouWill, and I am definitely not the only one who thinks this due to the fact that it landed in the top 50 on SoundCloud’s New & Hot chart which is right where it deserves …

Pristine – [TyFontaine]

I know what you’re thinking, here goes Danny with another TyFontaine article… When’s he going to stop? The answer is never, or at least not until he stops making music which appears to be the same answer, so just strap in and get ready for another hit. Although the slight hiatus was only a short period of time, Ty is back with an incredible new single entitled “Pristine” and the title does an incredible job of explaining just how awesome the song is. Produced by hitmakers Cxdy and ThankYouWIll, we’re introduced right off the bat to some lighthearted piano keys and unique synths before simplistic yet rhythmic percussive elements enter the scene and provide an unbelievable basis for Ty to reintroduce himself to the world. In the hook, Ty constantly begins his sentences before interrupting himself with a scoff as if to say he doesn’t have to explain his drip, people already know what he’s rocking. Eventually, though, he finishes each phrase with such personality and enthusiasm, it’s impossible not to admire the rapidly rising star’s charisma. The instrumental simplifies slightly in the verse, giving Ty a virtually blank slate to switch up his deliveries and flows which he takes …

Kisses-[Yea Bank]

Yea Bank is an up and coming artist who I’ve been hearing more and more about each day. As his buzz continues to grow, so does my interest, which has inspired me to learn more about this promising musical prospect who continues to pop up on my socials. Yea Bank is a 21-year-old from Atlanta Georgia who is getting acclimated into the prominent Internet Money crew. If you check out his soundcloud catalog, he only has two songs underneath his belt, which means the young hitmaker is new to the scene, but talented nonetheless. When it comes to analyzing an artist who is this early in his career, it’s easy to be skeptical, but with Yea Bank, it’s just as easy to tell that he’s going to be special. Just recently, the Georgia native teamed up with well-known producers, Cxdy and Thankyouwill to drop a brand new offering called “Kisses”. The 2 minute and 17 second piece is everything you would expect an Internet Money infused track to be. There’s direction, intentionality, swagger and an energy that can be felt and transferred by a simple listen. Yea Bank comes out of the gate swinging and he doesn’t miss whatsoever. His …
