Wit A Sticc – [$tupid Young] ft. [Tee Grizzley]

While California might not be considered the birthplace of the Hip-Hop genre as a whole, it can certainly be considered the birthplace of a new age and sound within the Rap scene. When West Coast synths and bouncing 808s take over the instrumental, you know whatever function you’re at is going to be turned up to the maximum even if the violent lyrics in some songs should have you running for the hills. Although I haven’t familiarized myself too much with Long Beach native $tupid Young, he’s definitely an act that I need to check out much more moving forward after hearing his latest single. This track is called “Wit A Sticc” and taps Detroit emcee Tee Grizzley for a very intriguing feature, to say the least. As the DJ Idea beat begins to unravel, bells and mischievously haunting synths take the forefront of the production as lively basslines and rhythm-building percussion come into the instrumental and truly elevate the vigor of this offering. There’s never really any drop to signify Young’s entrance, but he captures your attention from the moment he begins to spit through his deep, insistent delivery full of wordplays and aggression. His flow switches up constantly, …

Rising Atlanta sensation Baby Plug discusses his musical origins, unexpected collaboration with Lil Scrappy, and what sets him apart

For nearly fifteen years Atlanta has been the pre-imminent and most flourishing hotbed for trap music talent and innovation and as we head into the new decade many people were concerned that their flame would finally be burning out, but thanks to a host of new talent from a generation that was not expected to have nearly the impact as their respective predecessors it is clear that Atlanta will always be at the forefront of rap music. East Atlanta’s Baby Plug is a young artist who already has a lot to say and it is evident already that his work ethic and wisdom are far beyond his years. It is obvious from just one listen that Baby Plug is one of those rare talents who was put on this Earth to rap. His voice is effortlessly swaggy and this charisma has enabled him to climb the ranks of popularity rather quickly. With a mixtape and an EP under his belt now it is clear that Baby Plug is not just another rapper but rather is almost ordained to lead his section of New Atlanta to the promised land. Most recently Baby Plug released his collaborative EP with South Carolina producer …

Cash – [Osibih]

Osibih is an 18-year-old independent Bay Area artist who just dropped his highly anticipated “Cash” music video. The visuals were produced by Dino and directed by Rob Driscal. Osibih and Dino have proven to be a dynamic duo with songs such as “Pressure 2.0”, “No Reason”, and “Come” closer. Osibih has accumulated millions of streams on every DSP with no management or label behind him. His loyal fanbase in which he built from the ground up in a span of a year is where these views are coming from. I’m confident that Osibih will continue to make major noise amongst the other budding young artists coming up. Within the first 3 months, he’s performed with prominent artists like Tee Grizzley and sold out his first headlining show in San Francisco California. Osibih continues to showcase serious potential and is carving out his own lane as the next generation of Northern California artists. Watch Osibih’s new visuals for “Cash” below.

Shit Real – [Jay Rock] ft. [Tee Grizzley]

This week, Top Dawg veteran Jay Rock released a new track entitled “Shit Real” alongside none other than Tee Grizzley. Clocking in at 2:20, the track is a pretty short one, but, with swift, punchy production, it certainly packs ample impact into its relatively short runtime. Both Jay and Tee pack tough, gritty lines on this one, one after the other, and, as the flow they manage is super smooth in design, you’ll be finding yourself head-nodding to “Shit Real” in no time. This one is replay-worthy as can be, and honestly, in my eyes, it should be regarded as one of Jay’s more celebrated (recent) records. Make sure you stream this one below and be on the lookout for more from Jay Rock hopefully in the near future!

Wake Up – [Tee Grizzley] x [Chance The Rapper]

Detroit native Tee Grizzley just blessed his rapidly growing fan base with an awesome new record titled “Wake Up” featuring Chicago super star Chance The Rapper. As soon as I heard this silky smooth instrumental at the start of the record I could tell it was going to be a hit, Tee Grizzley provided us with a memorable hook and an even better verse to lead this one off on a positive note. The feature on the back end of this one from Chance The Rapper made this already amazing song that much better, he came through with a solid contribution that complimented Tee’s verse and the beat perfectly. Check out this brand new offering for yourself below and if you like it be sure to stream Tee Grizzley’s entire project when it drops!

First Day Out (remix) – [Tee Grizzley] feat. [Meek Mill]

Since the Eagles beat the Vikings to earn a trip to the Superbowl, Meek Mill has been a popular topic of discussion because many of the Philadelphia athletes supported him publicly wishing for his release from prison. With that said, it seems only fitting that Tee Grizzley releases his “First Day Out” remix featuring the Philly artist after the Eagles won the Superbowl. Even before I heard this song, I knew Meek would body his verse. The “First Day Out” beat is a perfect beat for Meek to go crazy on, and he sure did go crazy. This song was already a hit, but now Meek solidified it as one of the hardest songs out right now.
