Don’t Care – [Tatiana Hazel]

Pop is an underrated, underappreciated genre. Pop is typically associated with those drawn-out singles that would somehow always play on the radio whenever you so much as stepped foot into a car, so we can thank modern radio for shaping the common thought about Pop music. However, when you allow yourself to branch through the tall grass of catchy radio Pop singles, you just might stumble upon a promise land of beautiful music. The Mexican-American bilingual Pop artist Tatiana Hazel is that satisfying first sip of water after a long journey through the depths of the Pop world. Her newest single “Don’t Care” juxtaposes common rhetoric behind a past relationship by offering a more positive perspective: just because you’re moving on does not mean that you can’t cherish the memories. Tatiana shared: “In the lyric ‘Sometimes I wonder what would’ve happened if I would’ve stayed’ I ask myself what would have happened in an alternate reality if I chose that person over me.  In the chorus, ‘I don’t care if you don’t, I promise that I won’t forget about you’ I ultimately realize that I need to move on, but moving on doesn’t mean forgetting the time spent with that person.” …

While Chicago has been known as a reputable city in hip-hop for numerous years now, this revered position has not arrived without the constant innovation and hard work of the artists that so faithfully represent the prowess of their home city. Sleepless – [Melo Makes Music] Ft. [Taylor Bennett]

(Photo by Evan Brown) Melo Makes Music unleashed a brand new record a couple of days back titled “Sleepless” featuring Taylor Bennett, and it’s truly one of the most beautiful songs I have heard in recent memory. The excellent production on this track was handled by Martin $ky, but Melo really took it to the next level with his vocal performance, and the solid contribution from Taylor was the cherry on top. Along with the release of this track, Melo left us with a message saying “this for my city. Special thank you to Van Isaacson & Tatiana Hazel. MORE MUSIC COMING SOONER THAN YOU THINK!” Give it a spin below while we wait for the new music, and if you like it be sure to give Melo a follow on Twitter here.

Evicted – [Melo] Ft. [Kweku Collins]

Melo returns to our pages today with his brand new offering titled “Evicted” featuring Closed Sessions own Kweku Collins as well as some background vocals from Tatiana Hazel. This is the second record we have received off of Melo’s forthcoming sophomore project “Nomads,” the first being when he dropped “Murphy’s Law” back in 2015. The spacey instrumental on this track is provided by Martin $ky, who continues to impress with every beat he releases. At it’s core, “Evicted” really illustrates how negative life situations can be made into positive outcomes, a message he is going to push extremely hard in his upcoming mixtape. If you’re unfamiliar with Melo and his work, this song would be a great place to start, hit play below. THE CAGE – [Ju.]

Wasted youth rapper and front man Ju is known for giving us music that is so much more than your typical rap music nowadays. “THE CAGE,” produced by orgenA and Tatiana Hazel, is a very deep song. The lyricism is beautiful; Ju shares his thoughts about being in a cage we are all stuck in. At the rate he’s going he’s sure to be out of this cage soon. Ju’s able to give us a lot more than a typical verse and shows us he can do amazing things with his voice. Be sure to check out Ju’s new track below!
