1-1-2018- [Monster Mike]

Chicago underground heavyweight, Monster Mike, kicked off the new year with a surprise EP simply titled, 1-1-2018, produced entirely by Faded Kye with some help from Blank Body on “Minivan”. The 7-track project flexes Mike’s ability to drop gritty, authentic bars over a range of beats that hit hard on any speaker. The sole feature on the tape is none other than Stunnaman Stacks, Decent Militia superstar, on “D-Block Zone 1” which finds both Chicago rappers coming together for one of the more catchier offerings. By far my favorite track however is “Gas”, where Mike raps, “Yeah I’m smoking on this gas/let her hit it now she gassed up…” Anyone with the shits will have no problem vibing to these fresh sounds, and always one to level up- we can surely expect a year of elevation for the veteran lyricist. A true Chicago gem, be sure to start your year on a positive note and get in tune with Monster Mike’s latest EP 1-1-2018 now by hitting play below!

Hell Era 2 – [CassoBandz]

Decent Militia affiliate, El Bandz, also known as CassoBandz has recently dropped his latest project titled Hell Era 2 and it is unlike anything we have seen from the Decent camp yet. At 14 tracks, El Bandz explores a variety of dark vibes utilizing upbeat production which makes it feel like you’re in a party being hosted in the underworld. Notable appearences include a legendary guest feature from BigBodyFiji on the hit song, “Cookin”, which finds both artists  trading energy back and forth for an overall great listen. Yung Byrds and Stunnaman Stacks are also present on the EP making this a Decent fiesta for sure. Henny B spits a nice charismatic verse on the IcyTwat produced song, “Water Drip”, wrapping it up when it comes to the features. CassoBandz is definitely  up to something with this eerie sound he has crafted for the project and we are excited to see what plans the Chicago based rapper has for the future. Dollar Bills & Purple Demons – [Stunnaman Stacks]

As Stunnaman Stacks releases more music, he gives us countless reasons as to why he deserves the credit he is getting for his music. He turns up with the rest of the Decent Militia at live shows, creates a brand new persona in every track he creates and makes music that is, simply put, just fun to listen to. He brings us some of his most recent work in the form of a new tracks entitled “Dollar Bills” and “Purple Demons.” In the G.50beats produced “Dollar Bills,” Stacks preaches about money, dollar bills more specifically, and raps about how he is going to get those dollars. On “Purple Demons,” Stacks links up with some of his squad including BIGBODYFIJI, Lil Chevy and CASSOBANDZ, and their teamwork pays off better than ever as they absolutely kill this song. With the amount of quality music that Stunnaman is putting out, I don’t think he’s too far off from reaching that payday he so often expresses desire for. Be on high alert for new music from Stunnaman Stacks because he always has something new up his sleeves. Until his next heater comes to fruition, check out “Dollar Bills” below. words by Danny Adams

2 Steppin’ & My Bad Bruh- [Stunnaman Stacks]

If you’ve kept up with some of the latest and greatest artists we’ve featured here at Lyrical Lemonade, you have to know Stunnaman Stacks by now. It’s not surprising anymore that every time I go on Soundcloud, I see another new track from Stacks. It just goes to show that his work ethic is on another level when compared to a lot of other artists in the game today. He actually released two songs back to back in the last couple days, the first of which is called “2 Steppin’.” Along with every new song he puts out, comes yet another style that he experiments with. On “2 Steppin’,” he tries out a nonchalant, sort of raspy sound that is unlike anything he’s done before. It’s different, but impressive. It sounded so different that if I hadn’t looked at the title or artists, I don’t think I’d know it was him. That is a gift he has when it comes to music, because his ability to shift sounds on a song to song basis is unheard of. In his second song “My Bad Bruh,” he sticks with the same style as “2 Steppin’” to an extent, but the instrumental he …
