YBN Cordae is one of my favorite new young artists in the game because of the great music he makes, but also because of the great head that he has on his shoulders, so when saw he stopped by Hot 97 to chop it up with Nessa I was glued to my screen. Vanessa Lamarck – [Retro X]

Looking back on all of the stellar projects released in 2019 so far, one of my favorites to date has to be 24 — the latest full-length offering by a Parisian artist and Lyrical Lemonade favorite, Retro X. From one-of-a-kind artistic direction to a clear knack for selecting only the best, boundary-pushing production, the entire project seems to push the limits of futuristic sounds in both Paris and beyond, making for a must-listen by all counts. With that said, Retro X is back today to add a dimension to the project with the brand new music video for “Vanessa Lamarck.” Like something out of a movie, this globe-trotting video takes viewers through a variety of unique surroundings and scenery, all while maintaining an impeccable, cinematic tint in the process. Retro X’s charismatic personality shines through with each successive scene, and imagery such as the white horse and the sunset against the water make perfect sense with such a unique, infectious song. That said, “Vanessa Lamarck” has been a must-listen since its release, but now paired with its accompanying visuals, this release takes its magic to the next level. Today, the South Carolina native is finding himself back on our lemon filled pages with not one, but two brand new offerings titled “1000 Slimes” and “Get Slimey Freestyle”. You will find Slime giving his own twist on Vanessa Carlton’s hit “A Thousand Miles” on the first record, as well as providing an all around solid freestyle track on the second joint over the “Get Silly” beat.
