OMS – [TM88] & [Pi’erre Bourne]

I have spoken extensively throughout the past few months about how great both TM88 and Pi’erre Bourne are, whether they’re on their own or teamed up together. Clearly, both of these musicians are insanely skilled producers, and they deserve to be credited with pretty much setting the standard for innovation as far as the current generation of hitmakers is concerned, so when they got together for their joint album YO!88 a couple of months ago, there was absolutely zero negative feelings that I had towards the finished product, and it’s still something that I have included in my rotation as the months go on. The only thing that I was a bit disappointed in was the fact that there weren’t more accompanying music videos immediately following the album’s release because I love to see the lifespan of a project continue to grow as time goes on. Well, even after a bit of time has passed, my wish was answered thanks to the release of the Daniel Kelly-directed, fully animated music video for the album’s opening song “OMS”, and although it’s just a cartoon, it definitely filled a void that I felt was present. Thanks to a retro-inspired, computer video game-like …

Trust Nobody – [North Ave Jax]

Burlington Vermont duo North Ave Jax, and director Kelly Butts-Spirito recently dropped the visuals to “Trust Nobody”. A friendship that was formed since high school, has now blossomed into a powerful partnership. North Ave Jax is the newest artist under LVRN. He has been buzzing on SoundCloud since this track was released. With over half a million streams on Soundcloud in the first three weeks, I can only imagine what is yet to come. This was my first time listening to North Ave Jax, and I must say I’m impressed. From his flow to his bars, the message behind this song was very relatable for me. His voice on top of the beat produced by Yung Lando, fit together perfectly. The hook was catchy and the video helped to bring the meaning behind the song alive. “Trust Nobody” is extremely special to the duo because they created it together. “Kelly picked me up when I was at my lowest and saw something in me I didn’t even see in myself. He spoke dreams into reality and continues to do it. It’s unbelievable how hard he has pushed me to work and better myself. Kelly and I are going to show …

The Top 10 Moments From Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash Festival

Creative Direction: @shotbycones We are a couple of weeks removed from our annual Summer Smash festival, and we are all still having major withdrawals from such a great weekend. After the past year that we had of quarantining, social distancing, and avoiding large events, it felt amazing to be able to come outside and enjoy our festival once again. With over 75 artists on our lineup ranging from the up-and-coming rappers to superstars and legends, it was truly a weekend to remember, and a special moment for not only Lyrical Lemonade but Chicago as a whole. I had the opportunity to work as a lead for the Summer Smash Media Team—a squad full of some of the best photographers and videographers in the game put together by our guy Cones. All weekend long, they captured tons of videos, photos, and clips of the entire run of show. While our full recap of the entire Summer Smash weekend is dropping very soon, I felt it would be a great idea to give my perspective on some of the best moments that happened during Summer Smash. At last, here are some of the best moments of Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash 2021!   …

POSHBOY 2 – [ITSOKTOCRY]

I’ve already said so much about ITSOKTOCRY that you’d think it would be hard for me to keep raving about him, but he’s one of the most unique artists in the entire industry that you simply can’t run out of words and praise for the Denver native. Nothing about him is characteristic in the best possible way, and the fact that you never know what he’s going to deliver when he drops something new is the reason why I’ve been coming back for more every time he releases a song, video, or project. His initial installment of POSHBOY was an undeniable hit, and ever since that came out, fans were waiting with bated breath as they anticipated the project’s sequel. Luckily, the wait came to a close late last week, POSHBOY 2 is finally in our laps, and I couldn’t be any happier to share it with you, just like I couldn’t be any more excited for the incredible records that come with the tape. On this project, we’re gifted 12 brand-new songs and a runtime of just under a half-hour long, and every single track packs a punch, unlike anything you’ll hear all year. He opens up on a …

Jupiter – [Ronny J]

Rap music wouldn’t be even close to what it is today without Ronny J, and that’s a plain and simple fact. He is one of the most recognizable producers in the entire industry for more reasons than one. Even if you don’t hear the woman who says his tagline “Oh My God Ronny” at the beginning of his songs, his thunderous drums are typically a dead giveaway anyway. It’s crazy to think that although he might’ve helped pave the way for the South Florida underground scene to blossom, he has gone on to create hits with legendary artists like Kanye, Eminem, Travis Scott, XXXtentacion, and so many other icons. What most people don’t know, however, is the fact that he also makes music of his own, and this side of him is a totally different form than the producer. Sure, he makes his own beats and has his own original lyrics, but it has such a different vibe that is atypical of the hitmaker, and his solo music is definitely underrated, to say the least. Most recently, he dropped his sophomore effort Jupiter which was a follow-up to his 2018 album OMGRonny. While his first project might’ve contained numerous features …

Watch Iann Dior Perform for the Monster Energy Outbreak: LIVE ON LOCATION Series

Obviously, with everything going on in the state of the world right now, live concerts and events are just not possible, at least in the same fashion that we’re used to. Although certain parts of the country have reopened with restrictions and rules to follow, who knows when things are going to go back to normal and we’re going to actually get to attend concerts once again. People are doing all sorts of creative things to supplement their craving for performing live and giving fans different options to appease their hunger for performances as well, but it’s just never the same. While some artists or performers are doing drive-in shows, others are doing things like live streaming performances in order to remain socially distanced. Monster Energy Outbreak has been doing the latter with their latest series “LIVE ON LOCATION”, which has recruited different artists from all over the country to perform live for fans to view from the comfort of their own homes. They’ve had various artists such as Lil Tjay, Rico Nasty, IDK, Shoreline Mafia, and G Herbo, but the most recent video I saw was for one of my favorite up and comers Iann Dior. In this performance, …

Sick and Tired- [Iann Dior] ft. [Machine Gun Kelly] & [Travis Barker]

Considering one of the main genres of music I grew up with was punk rock and other similar subgenres, I’ve been a major fan of the punk-influenced Rap music that artists have been creating. Obviously, Lil Peep brought this subgenre into a much larger light than ever before but acts like Lil Tracy, Cold Hart, and other GothBoiClique members have helped with the inception of this style of music and continue to influence new generations. Iann Dior is one of those artists in the new generation of punk Rap music who intelligently signed to the incredibly popular Internet Money Records label. With the help of Internet Money, Iann has racked up millions of plays on some of his biggest songs and has even recruited some mainstays in the industry to join him on certain tracks. On his most recent offering “Sick and Tired”, Iann invited Machine Gun Kelly and the legendary drummer Travis Barker to accompany him on this all-around banger. High-pitched guitar plucks and insane Hip-Hop percussion lays the pavement for this obviously punk rock-influenced hit. Unlike many of his counterparts making similar music, Iann opts for autotune-absent vocals which allow his voice to shine, preventing it from getting …

Coffee – [Kelly Rowland]

Kelly Rowland is a legend in the music world and has been for the past couple of decades, but lately, over the past handful of years she has released little to no music, but today she has returned with a brand new music video for her new track titled “Coffee”. Whenever an artist that has the talent, the respect, the catalog and the impact such as Kelly Rowland, the music community will stop in their tracks whenever she blesses us with new music. I came into this release fully expecting it to be a colossal release because Kelly never fails to deliver top tier material when she does choose to drop, and man I was correct in that thought, because in just a few days this visual has racked up nearly two million views! Kelly shared a few words about this record better than I could ever, as she added: “To Me, COFFEE is about embracing your individuality/sexuality or imperfections. Not comparing yourself to others. Because we need to celebrate ourselves more often; with this song, I want you to have yourself in mind. I want to remind women all over to reignite their magic!” Take a couple minutes out …

honeybunch – [Jasmine Kelly]

This evening we have a songstress that goes by Jasmine Kelly who is making her debut appearance on our website with her brand new offering titled “honeybunch”. I found this record while just browsing through Soundcloud + after listening to it a couple of times through I was thrilled, the guitar-driven track along with the raining sounds in the background provided the perfect instrumental for Jasmine Kelly, and she took advantage of the golden path she paved and provided us with a beautiful love song. This is the first time I have ever listened to Jasmine Kelly and her vocal performance really blew me away, so be expecting to see her on our platform again sometime in the future, but for the time being stream this new tune below.

The Positive and Negative Impact of Music Streaming Services

Post by Lee Mcintosh “I was thinking about not making CDs ever again… Only streaming. The Yeezus album packaging was an open casket to CDs. R.I.P.” -Kanye West via Twitter, 2016 In an era where technology is always evolving every day, many of us never thought we would see the end of the CD era. A lot of us were born into the CD era and will never forget that feeling of going to the store to buy your favorite artists newest album to add to your ever-growing music collection. These tweets only being three short years ago, the time has now come. With the rise and dominance of streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music & Tidal, artists no longer feel the need to have to release traditional physical albums anymore. Although CDs are close to being 100% obsolete, there still is a system in tact that allows artists to still sell albums amidst the new era of streaming music–designed to make life much easier for artist and aspiring artists alike. However, some may believe this system is still flawed, and many believe that we still do not have all the information about it. The current debate stands if music …
