It’s Grammy Nomination season, which means a myriad of artists, producers, songwriters and musicians are being recognized for their amazing accomplishment and contributions to music over the year. It truly is a special time; getting to see the hard-work of so many individuals pay off is a feeling that cannot be replicated and today, I have the pleasure of shedding even more light on a highly decorated individual who deserves it. If you haven’t heard of the name, Tommy Parker yet, then odd are, these names ring a bell: J. Cole, Ariana Grande, Young Thug, etc. The list goes on and on for this established producer as he’s worked alongside and garnered credits with some of music’s finest.  I rarely interview producers, but when an opportunity arises to chat with a musical genius like Tommy Parker, it’s impossible to pass up. If you’re in need of some inspiration today, then keep reading down below to check out my conversation with Tommy, as we cover his life, music and what it’s like to have worked on two Christmas projects this year with Alicia Keys and The Backstreet Boys!  — Sam: So, Tommy, for those who don’t know, where are you from …

SICK OF IT* – [Jean Dawson]

It had been quite some time since we had last heard from Jean Dawson, but over the last month or two, he has been unveiling singles from his highly anticipated upcoming project CHAOS NOW* and my excitement is at an all-time high. When it comes to Jean, you aren’t only going to get a banger, a unique style of music, and a vibrant persona. You’re also going to get some profound and thought-provoking lyricism that makes you ponder on life itself, just as he does within his releases. I never leave a song or visual knowing exactly what to take away from it, but that’s what I find so magnificent. His records seem to leave the message up for debate, and depending on what you may have going on in your mind while listening, you may have an entirely different takeaway than you will during your next listen. Although I don’t make music myself, I know how difficult this is because it’s a rarity in the industry, and if it were simple to do, everyone would. We’re slowly getting closer to his next project’s release date of October 7th, and with his latest self-produced (with some help from Austin Corona, …

PIRATE RADIO* – [Jean Dawson]

Few people have been able to incorporate the amount of originality and imagination into their music as Jean Dawson, but that’s not saying a ton considering he is one of the pioneers of outside-the-box thinking and bringing new ideas to life in his own unique way. Everything from the music itself to his visuals are one of a kind and you won’t experience his offerings the same way if anyone else tried to replicate them. I mean, there is just some unexplainable innovation that he utilizes with each new drop, and even if you think you may have an idea of what you can expect, he will deliver something completely different but still immaculate, nonetheless. You can’t corner him into any specific genre because he pretty much makes it all, and as he gears up to release his upcoming album CHAOS NOW* on October 7th, this has been an obvious fact with the singles he has been releasing. It’s no surprise that massive artists like SZA and A$AP Rocky both admire his artistry, and considering they’re both been working with him in the studio recently, there is no limiting his potential. Today, Jean is back with another insanely great single …

THREE HEADS* – [Jean Dawson]

Kids these days have a much different upbringing than anyone in the history of this world thanks to technology, the internet, and even social awareness. We are the generation that doesn’t stand for anything unjust, and with access to anyone across the world on the world wide web and social media, there is never a day that goes by where someone doesn’t make their stance on an issue known. That also means that misfits no longer have to hide or be afraid of their true identity, because there once was a time when these outcasts felt excluded due to their minimal exposure to others like them, The internet allows these individuals to come together and rise up, embracing who they are and being proud of this label, not ashamed of it as they once were. I mean, I’m not ashamed to call myself a bit of a misfit because although certain traits of mine might not fit the mold, others definitely do, and if I had a penny for every time someone came up to me and said something along the lines of “Danny, you really don’t look like someone who would be into the type of music that you …

Burning Up – [Nardo Wick] x [The Kid Laroi]

Less than a week after releasing Central Cee’s new music video that has amassed nearly 10 million views, Cole Bennett of LL is back again, this time with a brand new music video for “Burning Up” by The Kid Laroi and Nardo Wick. This video was shot a few weeks ago in Norway while Cole was overseas shooting a string of visuals, and it lined up perfectly because it fell on a date that Laroi had off of his European tour! To the common musical listener, this collaboration may seem unexpected, but to me, it’s the textbook “I didn’t know I needed this until I heard it” type of song. Laroi and Nardo complement each other very well and throwing the vision of Cole on top of that significantly amplifies the moment. Take some time out of your Tuesday night to watch this brand new visual below!

Seddy Hendrinx Interview: Well Prepared, Well Preserved & ‘Well Sed’

“Once I saw that I had a way out, it was all in from that point and I never let up. Getting that love in my city really fueled me, man. That’s where I get all the love. Duval 904. I felt like if I could make it in Duval and my city could get behind me, then I’m straight.” -Seddy Hendrinx Photo Credit: @shotbydecat When it comes to the rap scene out of Florida, most would instantly gravitate towards the gritty and gutter style of rap that has come out of there as of late. Names such as Yungeen Ace, Stopemgottem, and Nardo Wick would be amongst the ones who are sporting that rugged and authentic style of rap. However, once there is an artist that blossoms from a city known for a specific sound, and they don’t come out sporting that sound, that instantly makes you stand out amongst the pack. That alone can draw people’s attention to what you have to say and the matter in which you say it. Straight out of Duval County, Seddy Hendrinx is an artist that has been making a ton of impact within the Jacksonville scene for years now. Placing a huge …

Hip-Hop Artist Alistar Releases New Single “From Nothing To Something”

A new artist you should have on your radar this year is Chicago native Alistar. The up and coming artist’s dedication to improving his craft has landed him on Lyrical Lemonade radar. Alistar has been creating  buzz for himself with his positive mindset, and melodic vocals that I fell in love with. Today, Alistar debuts his new hit single ‘From Nothing to Something’. The CashoutBernard produced beat and RIAA Platinum engineer Anthony Smith created a record that will have you bobbing your head upon first listen. Alistar upbeat flow with his dope punchline made the perfect record to add to your playlist this week. “Ever since I was a kid, music is what has gotten me excited for the day. I could be having the worst day, yet when my fav song comes on, none of that seems to matter,” Alistar explained. “I’m truly blessed to be able to create this song as a means of inspiring or positively influencing anyone I can.” This year, I look forward to watching how Alistar will progress within his career. His talent has not gone unnoticed. It’s only a matter of time before the world realizes. Check out his new single below.

Riot – [Nardo Wick]

I think if you look at the track record that Nardo Wick has built for himself over the last year or two, it is something that could go toe to toe with the very hottest emcees out right now, and he might just take the cake for the king of them all. Now personally, if I’m being as transparent as I can be, I haven’t really listened to him nearly as heavily as others have, but that doesn’t mean I have any less respect for the musician. I mean, I have the utmost respect for all Florida spitters, especially when they can stand out in such a captivating manner as Nardo, and he is only continuing to get better and gain more listeners with time. When the 2022 XXL Freshman list dropped yesterday, I would have been baffled if his name wasn’t included on the list, but considering he is one of the most prominent members of the group, I think he’s definitely one undeniable person that XXL got right. Well, ahead of what is sure to be one of the most exciting performances at this Summer Smash this weekend, Nardo dropped a song called “Riot” produced by Trademark, LMC, …

do you agree? – [koi]

I had first heard about koi through. His work with the awesome music video production company Overcast, because they’re always putting me onto new artists that I find myself vibing out with heavily, so I know they’re never going to steer me wrong when they make a visual with an artist that wasn’t previously on my radar. Since then, I have dived deep into koi’s discography and have discovered that he is one of the most appealing, creative, and soothing voices in the entire music scene, and I think he is grossly underrated compared to the strength of his sonic catalog. His vocals are just so smooth, and he doesn’t try to pretend to be someone he’s not, staying true to himself, his sound, and making sure that his skills are always fully showcased in the most eloquent of ways. Moving on, Sam McGrath has become not only my homie over the past year or so, but he has also become one of my favorite music video directors, shooting miniature movies for artists like Landon Cube, Bernard Jabs, TyFontaine, Tuxx, and many others that only continue to make his arsenal of videos stronger. That’s why, when I saw that koi …
