Watch Rico Nasty’s brand new interview with Nardwuar

At our Lyrical Lemonade show at SXSW this past week in Austin, Texas there was multiple great performances, but Rico Nasty’s set really blew me away. It was my first time seeing her live and even though I thoroughly enjoyed her music before I witnessed the set, it made me even more of a fan & it made me appreciate her art on another level. While she was out in Texas Rico Nasty connected with the greatest interviewer of all time, Nardwuar, and of course it was an awesome conversation. You will find these two speaking about plenty of things such as Joan Jett, freestyling at age five, her childhood friends, being inspired by her art teacher, seeing nasty stuff at the hospital she worked at, her fashion sense, rocking mohawks, the DMV, Old Bay seasoning, The Smiths, Injury Reserve, how important avatars are and more. Even in the age of social media, where artists can constantly connect and speak to an endless number of fans with the click of a few buttons, the art of the sit-down interview will never be lost or, for that matter, replaced. Whether explaining obscure childhood stories, the meaning of albums, their influences, or any other plethora of topics, musicians tend to open up when paired with the right interviewer, and the benefit of these conversations is for all to enjoy. Interviews provide fans with background, insight, and nowadays, viral moments, offering up endless entertainment that satisfies casual listeners and stans alike. Bossed Up – [Quin NFN]

I first met Quin NFN last year at SXSW when we met Nardwuar, but I was already familiar with his music at the time, and he is making his way back on Lyrical Lemonade today with his brand new music video for “Bossed Up”. The growth that Quin has had since that point last March has been unreal to say the least, this kid is still putting up numbers on all of his material but especially the music videos, it’s safe to say that he is by far one of the best upcoming emcees out of Texas. In Partnership with Level: Get Featured by Lyrical Lemonade

While we were out at SXSW this past year we ran into a great group of people over at a company called Level and after spending a few days with them one thing was clear to us, they truly care about the artist. The way that they treated each of the artists that they invited to their facilities spoke volumes, they made it a point to go above and beyond to make sure that they were comfortable and had access to anything they needed, so after that trip to Austin I looked more & more into their company. If you are unfamiliar Level is a new music distribution platform for independent artists, with a focus on building community and tools for the next generation of musicians. Dumb Sh*t – [Asa2times]

An artist that I got put on to at SXSW that goes by the name of Asa2times is making his Lyrical Lemonade debut this afternoon with his brand new music video for “Dumb Sh*t”. This record itself goes crazy in the headphones or the whip (in large part thanks to the production by Shake & Bake), so it needed a brilliant mind behind the camera who could help bring the feeling of this one to life, and that’s exactly what we got thanks to Ryder Visuals. I really enjoyed this visual and I believe that you will too, check it out for yourself below!

Never Been Average – [Boofboiicy]

Within the plethora of new artists that seem to burst into fame every week now, one of the artists that has stuck with me for quite some time now has been Boofboiicy. His commitment to consistency within all of his music is truly second to none, and by plotting on the long game with his talent, I won’t be surprised to continue to watch this rising star head on his steady ascent towards the top as the year goes on. Today, Boofboiicy hits our pages with a project entitled Never Been Average, acting as a compilation of some of the music on his SoundCloud in order to get some music on the streaming platforms. Although these are all past singles, Never Been Average is the perfect opportunity to get introduced to the wave that this Lyrical Lemonade favorite is running right now. After killing it at our SXSW showcase, The Lemonade Stand, the sky is truly the limit for Boofboiicy. So don’t sleep, listen to Never Been Average at the link below!

El Chapo – [Kenny V]

Amidst a sea of artists that we picked to perform at Lyrical Lemonade’s The Lemonade Stand SXSW showcase, one act that stood out in particular, was Kenny V – a Michigan rapper that you need to get hip to as soon as possible. However, if you weren’t already hip to the eerie sounds of this rising talent, today’s your lucky day as he visits our pages with a brand new, self-produced single titled “El Chapo”. Rich with raspy flows and a confrontational touch, Kenny attacks the beat on this one, delivering line after line of uninterrupted, unapologetic charisma. He sounds like a natural when on the mic, and it comes with no surprise why you’ll be hearing the name Kenny V much more in 2018. Don’t sleep on this one, listen to “El Chapo” below and let us know what you think in the comments!

Watch Smokepurpp’s Interview With Nardwuar

SXSW is always a busy time for Nardwuar the Human Serviette, and this year, he made sure that it was a special one, connecting with a number of today’s rising stars for some dope new interviews – most of which haven’t released yet. Today, however, to follow up the interview that he did with Lyrical Lemonade’s own Cole Bennett, Nardwuar is here to hit our pages with his latest video interview featuring the Florida star himself, Smokepurpp. In usual Nardwuar fashion, this conversation takes a number of twists and turns, unearthing a plethora of obscure facts about the Cactus Jack Records signee and his background pertaining to a variety of topics including Cheech and Chong, Lloyd Banks, Matt Ox, Lil Pump, and more. There’s a reason why Nardwuar is considered to be one of the best at what he does, and this interview is proof. Give it a watch below and if you haven’t had a chance, listen to Smokepurpp’s most recent album, Deadstar, here!
