Real One – [Young Moe]

Seasoned veteran Young Moe follows an impressive run of singles with his newest album release in Real One. This 19-track masterpiece further solidified the Virginia rapper’s remarkable discography, one that includes 13 other projects and collaborations with some of the industry’s biggest names including Kevin Gates, NoCap, and Chief Keef. Standout tracks on this project come in “No Fake Love,” “Not a Option,” “7 AM in Alexandria,” and my personal favorites “We Different,” and “Spaceship,” which features DMV-legend Shy Glizzy. Real One presents an in-depth look into the mindset of Young Moe’s most vulnerable thoughts and encounters, which you can hear woven throughout all 19 songs on his new mixtape. You can feel the passion and importance of this project, as Moe even included his wife’s and kids’ voices in the project. Young Moe further proved his authenticity by making the strategic decision to feature only DMV acts on his newest project. Moe’s distinctive, unique voice and poignant lyrics keep fans hanging onto every bar. Real One is sure to be a massive hit, I advise you to tap in before you’re late. Peep on Spotify below!

OMB Peezy Unleashes Gangsta Grillz Mixtape

Today (Aug 19), OMB Peezy debuted his highly anticipated Misguided Gangsta Grillz mixtape. Hosted by DJ Drama, The 16-track project, which is the official follow-up to Peezy’s 2021 offering Too Deep for Fears, includes features from G Herbo, NLE Choppa, and Morray. The Alabama-born rapper linked up some of the biggest producers in the game such as Murda Beatz, Hitmaka, and HicksMadeThat to create a masterpiece. “I came up with the name Misguided from real-life experiences. Looking back at my come-up, I realized that I was being misguided by people I was looking up to as a youth,” He stated. “They weren’t doing it on purpose, but they were still misguiding me. I wanted to stop that cycle and have kids from the community look up to someone with something motivating to say. I know the kids look up to rappers, and we hold much influence on the youth.” Along with his project, the 25-year-old artist released the visuals to his single “Real Shit” featuring Morray. Directed by Kevin Wright Jr and assisted by Justin Clarke from LVTRRAW, the video opens up with a powerful scene of people getting baptized in a river as Morray’s emotional hook takes over. Both …

Johnny Lugautti Teams Up With Superstar Kevin Gates For New Single Titled “Prada Me.”

Emerging artist John Duff, better known as Johnny Lugautti, has accomplished many great achievements in a short span of time. Inspired by Lil Wayne and Young Thug, Lugautti’s style and melodic flow distinguish the rising artist from his peers. The North Carolina rapper has landed collaborations with Snap Dogg, DJ Luke Nasty, JD Daigotti, and a few others. Last month, Lugautti teamed up with industry superstar Kevin Gates for a new single titled “Prada Me”. “It was big for me, Kevin Gates, one of the GOATs of the game, so that was huge for me. The song is basically saying no matter how good my dad did in life, I still wanna be better than him and that he’s proud of what I’ve become,” He shared. I know everybody was skeptical about the rockstar thing… but in due time everyone was “ Prada Me“ for being a rockstar and I honestly ain’t did sh*t yet.” The emotion provoking beat was created by platinum producer Jay P Bangz. Both artists joined forces to create metaphoric verses with an addicting hook. Shot by @MisterReeseFilmz, the visuals racked up 85,000 views and counting thus far. Check out the visuals to “Prada Me” below.

Bird Business – [Lamont Galore] [Summrs]

The 2010’s were good to the state of Louisiana’s music scene as artists like Boosie and Kevin Gates continued their respectively legendary runs and saw a raw teenage talent explode into one of the most streamed artists on the planet, but one aspect of the Louisiana music scene that is not nearly as mentioned is the ‘underground’ scene (in the SoundCloud sense) in the state’s southwest that after reaching a ceiling in their country towns took an exodus to nearby Houston in search of bigger opportunities. Summrs and Lamont Galore are just two examples of artists who came from The Boot with a buzz and maximized their skillsets and fanbases once exposed to a bigger pond full of culture and codeine as Houston is. Summrs, the Opelousas, LA native, has been bolstered by a rabid and more-often-than-not toxic internet fanbase for years now and alongside fellow Louisianian Autumn! is largely credited with if at least not the creation of ‘pluggnb’ can certainly be credited for its meteoric boost in popularity. His career is currently reaching its peak so far with his new album Fallen Raven that polishes the raw and compelling sound he has forged that is simultaneously proving to …

Behind The Track: C-Moski

We’re back again with the Lyrical Lemonade: Behind The Track feature. This week I decided to put the spotlight on C-Moski from Memphis, Tennessee. Moski always had an ear for music, however, he didn’t pursue his career as a producer until his thriving football career came to an end. Sometimes, it’s not what you know, but who you know. Thanks to Blac Youngsta and Ju his manager, Moski had the opportunity to become a part of Heavy Camp and produce three records on ‘Fu*k Everybody 2’ in 2018. Moski began to gain more recognition in 2021 after linking up with 1017 hottest artists on the rise, Pooh Shiesty. Moski is the face behind Pooh Shiesty’s smash Hit “Neighbors” featuring BIG30. This song received over 62 million views on Youtube and went on to become RIAA certified gold on May 27, 2021. The following year, “Neighbors” went platinum on January 18, 2022. I had the opportunity to learn more about C-Moski and his growth throughout the years. Check our interview out below. — Lyrical Lemonade: Where did you grow up? North Memphis, Douglass & Raleigh areas.  Lyrical Lemonade: Were you always involved with music growing up? Or was it something you …

Hands On Ya Knees – [Renni Rucci] feat. [Kevin Gates]

After releasing last year’s buzzworthy EP, QuickTape, which spawned big songs “Bag Talk,” “Solid Bitch” and “Bitch Do It,” famous South Carolina rapper pops out early in 2021 with the release of her new visual for the latest single “Hands On Ya Knees” featuring Kevin Gates. The Des Grey-directed visual stars Renni Rucci is a Dominatrix who controls a prominent sex dungeon filled with clients and dominatrixes-turned-dancers, fulfilling every desire over the DJ Chose production. Unlike the usual Rucci presentation, “Hands On Ya Knees,” with its multiple dance sequences and hypnotizing looks, is a must-see. While Gates doesn’t appear in the video physically, Rucci credits the I’m Him creator for the song’s originality. “Kevin actually presented the opportunity to me,” she says. “He had the song, and he wanted a female on, and he let me have my shot with it. He really was all for helping me excel in my career and has shown a lot of support to me, which I’m very grateful for. I laid my verses, and it was all she wrote after that. “ When speaking to Renni about the record, she says: “I wanted the video to be very different from what we see right now. A visual …

Big Decisions – [Morray]

Morray may very well be the next mainstream rap artist to breakthrough from the state of North Carolina. Today the Fayetteville, North Carolina artist shares new visuals for his newest record “Big Decisions.” This is only the fifth record since Halloween that the 19-year-old emcee has dropped and his star power seems to rise with each release. He’s definitely in a very unique place in his career because the first record he released “Quicksand” has turned into a viral hit. This has caused some hip-hop talking heads to speculate that Morray is an industry plant. I myself on the other hand am deciding to focus on how moving his music and story. If you’re a fan of rappers who rap about struggle, pain with vivid stories like Lil Durk, Polo G, Rod Wave, Kevin Gates then Morray would seem like a perfect save for your music library. One thing I’ll give Morray an advantage over the rappers I’ve mentioned is how good his vocals are on his records. It makes sense how he’s received cosigns from his other rap peers like J.Cole, DaBaby, Rick Ross, and more. Watch Morray’s new video for “Big Decisions” for yourself after the break.

My Soul Remix – [Young Moe] ft. [Kevin Gates]

Over the past handful of months, I have covered Young Moe’s new music releases a few different times because I am a huge fan of his content, but today is a special day for him. One of Young Moe’s biggest records to date is “My Soul”, an ear-pleasing + introspective joint that found Moe airing out plenty of things, and today he is back with the brand new remix to the song featuring the legend Kevin Gates! For many artists, getting their first big “look” is a huge moment for them, and this is just that for Young Moe, the only difference is that it seems completely organic. These two complimented each other sonically extremely well, they are both very solid + respectable men that rhyme better than a great majority of their competition, this remix is a 10/10 to me and I desperately hope that they work together more in the future. Do yourself a huge favor and watch this new visual below, you just might find your new favorite artist.

B4 The Storm – [Internet Money]

Internet Money is basically the music powerhouse that the average fan has no idea about. They’re cranking out hit after hit with not only big-name artists, but also with their in-house talents who are going to be superstars in their own right in no time at all. As they began to hype up their debut album B4 The Storm, I was getting so impatient because I knew that the rest of the world was in for something incredible, but I had to hear it with my own two ears to make sure my expectations could be justified. It obviously came out at midnight going into Friday so it’s been out for a few days, but I really wanted to take some time to run through it multiple times and truly take in all of the artistry and effort that went into this incredible album, and man, was I not let down in the slightest. On B4 The Storm, the masterminds behind Internet Money, including Taz Taylor and Nick Mira, were able to meld features from massive names like Future, Wiz Khalifa, Kevin Gates, Gunna, and more, with some incredibly talented and promising young artists like TyFontaine, TheHxliday, The Kid Laroi, …

STP – [Cousin Stizz]

Before we get into Cousin Stizz’ new track “STP” (and we will) can we take a collective second to applaud the year Take A Daytrip is having right now? It’s hard to imagine having a better year than they had last year, but they may have already topped it; shit maybe just in the past few weeks alone. Recently, they have been behind cuts from Big Sean, Cordae, Kevin Gates, Token’s song on the Madden soundtrack, all with “Panini” and “Rodeo” climbing up the charts. They are gonna need a new tag; this shit is past ten. A producer’s ability to create smash hits with a distinct sound, all while fitting a wide range of artists, is not an easy skill to master but Take A Daytrip has done it and perhaps nowhere is that more clear than this one with one of the more unique sounding emcees in the game in Stizz. Here, Stizz brings his off-kilter flow dripping with a cool, unconcerned attitude and still manages to fit in with fit the resonant, pulsing beat to create a song that has the aura of when you are almost too fucked up; knowing you may be at your limit, but being …
