Sticky – [Stvsh]

If you haven’t realized, I’m a huge fan of the Hip-Hop coming out of New York. I suppose it’s the sheer grit and attitude of the artists AND the production. Every legitimate artist coming out of the city has something to prove and you can hear it in their voices. I just recently discovered NY-based rapper Stvsh, and I’ve been thoroughly enjoying his newest song, ‘Sticky.’ Simply having fun in the studio, the young emcee recorded the track with the intentions of having crowds jumping and fans chanting. Recently headlining his first show, the rapper has been extremely motivated and been stuck in the studio ever since. Long time producer Judah Hex sounds just as hungry as the rising star. With an aggressive lead melody, and astonishingly powerful 808’s, ‘Sticky,’ is an incredible representation of the melting pot that is NYC. ‘I move too fast she give me a quicky, I feel like Tom Brady, it’s all in the past. I gotta admit, I’m gonna get rich, take over the city.’ With a music video on the way for the new banging single, Stvsh is not playing. Don’t sleep. Words by Barry R

Light & Radar – [Obii Say]

This morning we have an artist that goes by the moniker of Obii Say who is making his first appearance on our lemon filled pages with his two new tracks called “Light” and “Radar”. The first of the two songs is a light hearted offering that feels like summertime, in large part thanks to the dreamy production from Judah, but even more so to Obii Say’s admirable lyrical approach to the tune. The second song is a more abstract type of sound, it has a dark and menacing instrumental but once Obii jumped on the beat and found the perfect pocket you just can’t deny how good it sounds! Listen to both of these new songs below and see which one you enjoy more!

Get Up – [Judah] ft. [Pink Siifu]

Quite honestly, in all of my time writing and digging through music, I’ve learned that above all things, you can’t argue with soul. When an artist truly shows an ingrained passion in their art, there’s always going to be value to what they have to say, just as we see with Judah’s new single “Get Up” alongside Pink Siifu. Backed by a key-led instrumental, the relaxed, reflective tone of this offering, as well as the dense lyrical performances provided by Judah and Siffu, give “Get Up” a therapeutic tint. Something about the song makes it feel like time slows down just a bit, allowing the two artists to get their space and deliver some refreshing lines in the process. For both the listener and the performers themselves, “Get Up” almost holds a communal personality in this sense, as the nonchalant mood arrives with a candid connotation that you can’t help but find yourself mesmerized with. Needless to say, this song is a must-listen, so be sure to check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments!

Night Fall -[Judah] ft. [Nyku]

Nothing is more refreshing than soulful music, and today, here to live up to this expectation is an artist named Judah with his brand new single, “Night Fall”, featuring Nyku. Best identifiable by its dusty instrumentation and heart-led croons, this track keeps it as honest as can be while bringing forth a touching sense of personality. Judah and Nyku bounce off of one another’s energy with an impressive chemistry, and the result is a song that stays within its pocket, mastering a soulful delivery. “Night Fall” is a very solid release, so stream the song below and keep an eye out for more from Judah in the future!
