Mink Bars – [Jimmy Bolt]

The music industry is something that will never fail to amaze or impress me, and that just seems like a given that will never go away. Unless you’re truly tapped in with a ton of different people or have your hand on the pulse of different music scenes around the country, some massive names and even more talented artists can somehow slide under your radar, and that’s something I try my best to not let happen. It just seems like if an artist isn’t from Los Angles, Atlanta, or New York, it takes a bit of extra effort to learn about new up-and-comers from other regions and states, but if you are completely dedicated to the industry, these names will never go unnoticed. Houston is a city that seems to be on the fence of either being known as a massive hip-hop hub or just another city with a few huge superstars, but after experiencing music from some of the promising rising talents in H-town, I have no doubt in my mind that it is tipping towards the former statement rather than the latter. Jimmy Bolt is a name that I luckily can’t get out of my head when this …

YACKS ON ME – [Jimmy Bolt]

Jimmy Bolt is an artist I was just familiarized with not too long ago, but it has become abundantly clear early on that he’s not an artist you’re going to want to take lightly. The Houston talent has been turning heads left and right, getting nods from artists like Gunna and Lil Baby while working with other emcees including Lil Keed and SSG Splurge, so it goes without saying that he’s an artist you need to put on your radar before he truly blows up and you’re left behind in the dust. Most recently, he dropped his song “YACKS ON ME”, a song that continues to utilize some of his own original and unique Y-heavy verbiage, and the David Nguyen-directed music video was something I just had to talk about. Starting out, Jimmy is hanging out on a couch with a variety of lovely ladies who are counting stacks of cash while he takes a phone call. Eventually, they pop out of the crib and hop into Jimmy’s Ferrari, taking it for a joyride before parking on top of a parking garage and getting out to dance around and recite his lyrics. Finally, they ultimately pull up to a photography …

YEX – [Jimmy Bolt]

Houston is one of the most prominent cities for hip-hop up and comers, and while it seems to continue to stay under the radar when looking at massive successes like Travis Scott, Meg the Stallion, and a few other mainstays in the industry, I always enjoy finding out about new artists who are on the come up. Most recently I was put onto a new artist by the name of Jimmy Bolt who has been turning heads in recent memory, and after tuning in to one of his latest releases, I couldn’t help but share it with you all. Although it came out a couple of months ago, Jimmy’s song “YEX” has been blowing up without a doubt, and for good reason as well. Opening up with an instrumental that seems to include some bells and intriguing synths, the beat begins to proceed with some percussion and drums, yet when it seems to fully drop, it almost simplifies more than ever in order to create a sturdy and picturesque foundation for Jimmy to show off his skills. When he does come in, his words are somewhat spread out and energetic in the hook, using his play on the word sex …
