Live From The Lac-[JAMS The Flava Child]

After a successful run of singles spread all throughout the year, Chicago’s own JAMS The Flava Child is feeling charged up and ready to take the rest of the year by storm. Taking the last year to rejuvenate and rebrand, JAMS has been in the lab cooking up dopeness and building a new sound for the fans to be blessed with. One thing about JAMS is that he is one laid-back dude. Super chill, yet knows how to turn a party up. That alone is a perfect summary of what his brand new tape is about. Living that luxury life, kickin’ back, smoking, and overall just vibing through life. At last, here is JAMS’ new project, Live From The Lac. Crowning himself “The smoothest out the Midwest”, JAMS takes that to the heart and knows for a fact that his music must reflect that at all costs. With the “Lac” in the title being shortened from Cadillac, JAMS has grown an immense love for classic cars and old schools. That being said, he aspired to make a tape to reflect that vibe and that setting. The music that you can cruise to in an old school, or those late-night trips in …

Mindin’ My Business – [JAMS The Flava Child]

Since the release of his 2021 album Made With Love, Chicago artist JAMS The Flava Child has quite literally been out of the way and minding his business. After the project was released. JAMS would then get right back to the grind to work on his next project. The art of staying low and going back to the drawing board is something that not many artists tend to do nowadays. It would appear that lots of artists want to be seen at all times and flood the market with as much content as they can. JAMS took an alternate approach, and he is gearing up for an amazing run for the year 2022. With his second release of the year, JAMS is back on the Lyrical Lemonade platform with his new single “Mindin’ My Business” To follow up his “Flowers” release, JAMS continues that laid-back flow that he has been perfecting over time. Produced by frequent collaborator and legend, Billy Hoyle, they continue the chemistry that they’ve built over the years and come out swinging on this one. “Been through it all, the real ones gon’ feel it/Sharing the losses, it feel therapeutic” he raps in the opening line of the …

Top 50 Chicago Projects of 2021

Every year, artists hailing from Chicago prove exactly why this is a city that belongs in the upper echelon of music, and this fact grows more abundantly obvious with every release that is put out. Whether a musician is world renown or locally recognized, there is never a shortage of creativity, effort, or innovation, and whether the rest of the country notices this or not, local fans are well aware of the goldmine that we are sitting on here in the Midwest.  Our goal here at Lyrical Lemonade has always been to shine a light on the remarkable sounds coming out of the city every single year, and even when we go in with certain expectations or presumptions, our minds are absolutely blown once we realize just how much dexterous and unique music was brought to life in the span of 12 short months. One thing that is inimitable within the local scene here is simply the sense of community because whether these talents are teaming up with one another or on entirely different levels of fame, everyone seems to show love to each other, ensuring their awareness of the eye-opening and head-turning styles that are being generated across the …

Made With Love – [JAMS The Flava Child]

In my line of work, I’m beyond lucky to have an entire group of friends and industry acquaintances who put me on to some unbelievably talented up-and-coming artists that I might not have known about had I not searched for them myself. Most recently, the homie connected me with a promising young rapper who goes by the name of JAMS the Flava Child. An interesting name, to say the least, he lives up to the soulful, smooth, jazzy sound you might expect from someone with a moniker like this, and that’s obvious as soon as you press play on any single one of his songs. After talking for a bit, he told me I had to check out his latest project entitled Made With Love which was mixed and mastered by E. Dan, so I told him to say less, and I tuned in as soon as I could. Although it’s been out for just about a month, he had been building quite the buzz around it by releasing singles like “All Gas No Breaks” or “AGNB” as the project titles it, “FTW”, and the lead singles entitled “Sunday Morning”. After so many great singles, you knew you were in …

Legacy – [JAMS The Flava Child]

JAMS The Flava Child isn’t a stranger on our website, he’s been featured a handful of times in the past, and he is adding to that number today with his brand new live performance of “Legacy”. JAMS has been doing these CLARITY live sessions where he doesn’t a tiny desk-Esque live performance of songs off of his last project, I watched this one earlier today when he first released it, and I was very impressed with how it turned out. JAMS + his crew shot this at JP Grazianos in Chicago & had a super nice setup, the performance itself though was jaw-dropping, not only because of JAMS effort but his entire band with him. Take a couple of minutes below to watch this live performance below!

Elevate – [Jams TFC]

Jams TFC (The Flava Child) has been making his name more and more known here on our lemon filled website, and tonight the Chicago native is back with his latest release titled “Elevate”. Jams is fresh off of a six-stop tour alongside Kota The Friend, and he credits this release as an ode to everyone that he got the chance to meet while on tour. Jams creates some soulful and straight-up beautiful music so I am always happy whenever he decides to bless us with new music, and this new joint certainly did not disappoint, this is a smooth listen so I highly suggest that you give it a spin below! A quote from JAMS; “Elevate” is all about not settling and demanding more. The hook says, “I’m not satifised I don’t wanna maintain, wanna elevate oh I wanna elevate…I spend the day making tomorrow better than yesterday, that’s what I call an elevate!” I want this song to inspire people to reach for the ultimate heights in life, because a lot of people are alive, but not a lot of people are living.

Trust Myself – [JAMS The Flava Child]

Chicago native JAMS The Flava Child is making his way back to our platform this afternoon with his brand new visual for “Trust Myself”. It’s clear that Jams came into the booth on this record with a full heart as he discussed where he sees himself in the future, as well as his demons and being let down in the past. Jams has a unique flow and rhyme scheme & he takes pride in being a great lyricist, and he definitely showed that trait on this pleasing video that was directed by Garcia – Quintero. Check out this brand new music video below and if you like Jams sound be sure to give him a follow on Twitter here. Produced, Mixed, & Mastered by NEDO

Opportunity – [JAMS TFC]

JAMS The Flava Child first made his debut on our platform a couple of months ago a few days after I saw him perform live in Chicago, and today he is making his way back with his brand new music video for “Opportunity”. Although he’s a Chicago artist he took a trip out to Los Angeles to shoot this visual with Lost TV, and man they truly outdid them self with this stunning video. The shots that they were able to capture were truly beautiful, it complimented the soulful and heartfelt record from Jams, making for an all in all great final product. Watch this brand new music video below and if you enjoy it be sure to give Jams a follow on Twitter here!

Snack Pack, Vol. 1 – [Jamsftc]

We are all about debuting new talent here on our website, and the latest artist to be featured is Chicago artist Jams The Flava Child or Jamsftc for short, who is here with the release of his brand new EP “Snack Pack, Vol. 1“. There’s five songs on this new EP and it’s a pretty quick listen coming in at about eleven minutes in length but there is some great music in this EP, it’s filled with positive music & well put together records. The lone feature on this tape came from fellow Chicago native Sir Michael Rocks on the song “Eviction Notice”, which is probably my favorite of the bunch, they had some great chemistry together on this song and hopefully we see them work together more at some point. Check out this brand new EP below and if you like it go ahead and follow Jams on Twitter here to keep up with his future releases.
