Top 50 Chicago Projects of 2021

Every year, artists hailing from Chicago prove exactly why this is a city that belongs in the upper echelon of music, and this fact grows more abundantly obvious with every release that is put out. Whether a musician is world renown or locally recognized, there is never a shortage of creativity, effort, or innovation, and whether the rest of the country notices this or not, local fans are well aware of the goldmine that we are sitting on here in the Midwest.  Our goal here at Lyrical Lemonade has always been to shine a light on the remarkable sounds coming out of the city every single year, and even when we go in with certain expectations or presumptions, our minds are absolutely blown once we realize just how much dexterous and unique music was brought to life in the span of 12 short months. One thing that is inimitable within the local scene here is simply the sense of community because whether these talents are teaming up with one another or on entirely different levels of fame, everyone seems to show love to each other, ensuring their awareness of the eye-opening and head-turning styles that are being generated across the …

Jams TFC: The Lemonade Stand Interview

Jams TFC is an artist out of Chicago who I first met a couple of years ago at a concert, and I have been a supporter of his ever since! I recently brought Jams by the office for an interview where we spoke about plenty of subjects such as his latest album Made With Love, growing up in Chicago, the breakfast themes within his project, working with the legendary producer Jerm, touring with KOTA The Friend, his musical inspirations, his passion for comic books, the impact his mother + father had on him, Chicago’s music scene, and much more.

Patience + Legacy – [JAMS TFC]

Chicago native JAMS TFC is certainly no stranger to our pages, and today he is back with two of his latest music videos for “Patience” and “Legacy”. The first one finds Jams driving around Chicago in an old school whip and kicking some more introspective rhymes about issues he has been through, negatives feelings he has sometimes, but mainly about how he is going to overcome them. The second joint “Legacy” is basically what you expect it to be from the title, it’s about the legacy he wants to leave after he leaves this earth, and the video has him visiting some of his favorite spots in Chicago + displaying these businesses + their families. Rumor has it that Jams TFC’s upcoming album is dropping this Friday, so if you enjoy these two songs//visuals, go to your preferred streaming platform and give him a follow to make sure you give him a follow to hear the project once it’s out!

GMYL – [Jams TFC]

Jams TFC is a Chicago based talent who I have been listening to for over a year now since I saw him open for Femdot in Wicker Park sometime last year, he makes some great music + a great energy to him, and tonight he is back on our website with his brand new music video for “GMYL”. You might recall me posting the audio of this song when it dropped some weeks back, but this new visual takes the track to another level, in large parts thanks to the direction from Pat Banahan from Lost TV! I have enjoyed the content that Jams TFC has been giving us all of 2019, and I don’t expect this to be the last release from him of the year, so you might as well subscribe to his YouTube channel to continue to follow him after you watch this video below! Along with the release of this feel-good videos, Jams left us with some words saying: I love how this video represents Chicago. I love the diversity – this video shows a side of Chicago the media doesn’t acknowledge. We call “summertime chi” the best place in the world for a reason. People from all …

GMYL – [Jams TFC]

Jams TFC is a Chicago talent who first caught my attention when I saw him perform at Chop Shop a couple of years ago, ever since that day I have been a fan & have been covering his releases, and this afternoon he is back with his new record titled “GMYL”. Jams is a creative who can undoubtedly rap his ass off, but on this one he took more of a pop approach, making a great song in the process + showing just how versatile he is as an artist. Don’t sleep on Jams TFC, get in tune with his movement by streaming this release below! produced by NEDO

Elevate – [Jams TFC]

Jams TFC (The Flava Child) has been making his name more and more known here on our lemon filled website, and tonight the Chicago native is back with his latest release titled “Elevate”. Jams is fresh off of a six-stop tour alongside Kota The Friend, and he credits this release as an ode to everyone that he got the chance to meet while on tour. Jams creates some soulful and straight-up beautiful music so I am always happy whenever he decides to bless us with new music, and this new joint certainly did not disappoint, this is a smooth listen so I highly suggest that you give it a spin below! A quote from JAMS; “Elevate” is all about not settling and demanding more. The hook says, “I’m not satifised I don’t wanna maintain, wanna elevate oh I wanna elevate…I spend the day making tomorrow better than yesterday, that’s what I call an elevate!” I want this song to inspire people to reach for the ultimate heights in life, because a lot of people are alive, but not a lot of people are living.

Trust Myself – [JAMS The Flava Child]

Chicago native JAMS The Flava Child is making his way back to our platform this afternoon with his brand new visual for “Trust Myself”. It’s clear that Jams came into the booth on this record with a full heart as he discussed where he sees himself in the future, as well as his demons and being let down in the past. Jams has a unique flow and rhyme scheme & he takes pride in being a great lyricist, and he definitely showed that trait on this pleasing video that was directed by Garcia – Quintero. Check out this brand new music video below and if you like Jams sound be sure to give him a follow on Twitter here. Produced, Mixed, & Mastered by NEDO

Opportunity – [JAMS TFC]

JAMS The Flava Child first made his debut on our platform a couple of months ago a few days after I saw him perform live in Chicago, and today he is making his way back with his brand new music video for “Opportunity”. Although he’s a Chicago artist he took a trip out to Los Angeles to shoot this visual with Lost TV, and man they truly outdid them self with this stunning video. The shots that they were able to capture were truly beautiful, it complimented the soulful and heartfelt record from Jams, making for an all in all great final product. Watch this brand new music video below and if you enjoy it be sure to give Jams a follow on Twitter here!

Past Tense – [Jamstfc]

I just posted about Chicagoan Jams last night for his debut on this platform, little did I know he was about to drop a new record this morning, but here we are as he just released a heartfelt track called “Past Tense”. This is an extremely touching song as the main point of topic is how Jams overcame the death of his best friend, and man I must say he did a great job of painting a vivid picture of his situation, it felt like I was there right next to him. The glorious vocals that back him up help give this record that uplifting vibe, complimenting his honest & at times pain filled bars, but in the process he created something to be proud of. Stream this brand new tune below and if you like it be sure to follow Jams on Twitter here!

Snack Pack, Vol. 1 – [Jamsftc]

We are all about debuting new talent here on our website, and the latest artist to be featured is Chicago artist Jams The Flava Child or Jamsftc for short, who is here with the release of his brand new EP “Snack Pack, Vol. 1“. There’s five songs on this new EP and it’s a pretty quick listen coming in at about eleven minutes in length but there is some great music in this EP, it’s filled with positive music & well put together records. The lone feature on this tape came from fellow Chicago native Sir Michael Rocks on the song “Eviction Notice”, which is probably my favorite of the bunch, they had some great chemistry together on this song and hopefully we see them work together more at some point. Check out this brand new EP below and if you like it go ahead and follow Jams on Twitter here to keep up with his future releases.
