Ballin – [JAG]

If you are still sleeping JAG, you better wake soon or you are gonna miss the bus. Already two projects deep in 2019–and building a serious buzz in the process–the West Coast emcee shows no signs of slowing, dropping off an energetic banger in “Ballin.” Here, the Cali emcee’s roots are on display as he fits perfectly with KE On The Track’s boardwork that combines the bounce and knock of a West Coast anthem with a lighter, woodwind-centered backbone.  JAG takes the energy up with some bars (littered with basketball references, naturally). Thanks to his stalwart flow and the hunger in his voice, said bars are more than just lip service. Color, bounce, but a no nonsense, cuthroat feel,Jag can’t miss right now. Cue the NBA Jam voice…”He’s on fire!!”

Girls – [Yung Baby Tate]

At 22 years old, Yung Baby Tate has already been making music longer than many of her peers who are just getting into the game. The Atlanta artist has been making her own beats when she was 13, and she dropped her debut ‘ROYGBIV’ project in 2015. Since then, Tate has been pushing genre boundaries, seamlessly playing with different styles to pave a lane with a sound that’s distinctly hers. This month, she’s come through with one of her most sonically diverse projects yet, dedicated to a subject that’s just as dynamic as the songs themselves. ‘Girls’ serves as a conceptual counterpart to Tate’s 2018 project ‘Boys’, and it’s even bolder than its predecessor. Tate finds her niche somewhere in the middle of bubblegum pop, ATL trap, and retro RnB, bending these genres in a way I’ve never quite heard before. The mix of her influences comes through most potently on highlights like “Bad Girl”–she slips into sticky, sugar-coated melodies before going bar-after-bar in a punchy verse delivered with cutthroat confidence. Her natural explosiveness is matched by the production all throughout the project, as distorted bass and buzzing saw synths cut jagged edges around her smooth vocal style. While the …

Back 2 Ballin 2 – [Adamn Killa]

Chicago native Adamn Killa has been posted time and time again on our website in the past, and he is back once again, this time around with his brand new album titled “Back 2 Ballin 2”. There is a total of eighteen records on this brand new album but it has a cohesive feel to it, the production meshed well from song to song and the transitions were seamless. Speaking of the solid producers shout out to Jaguar Claw, DeliverTheCrush, Lukrative, TM88, Chris Surreal, Kilo Beats, Yung Lan, Pharoh Vice, Taz Taylor, Mjnicholas, Jasper, MJ & NM and Dorante for produced the entire tape! Check out this awesome new project below and if you’re digging it be sure to give Adamn a follow on Twitter here!

Mudboy – [Sheck Wes]

From star basketball player, to viral hitmaker, to Cactus Jack and GOOD Music’s most promising signee, Sheck Wes’ career has already been a whirlwind. Today, the 20-year-old rapper delivers his highly-anticipated debut project, ‘Mudboy’, marking another milestone point for the Harlem-native. At its core, ‘Mudboy’ functions as a come-up album, charting the young talent’s success up to this point and projecting where he plans to go in the future. Wes fills the project with exactly what you might expect from him stylistically at this point, relying on his 0 to 100 vocal presence. In a moment’s notice, he can go from whispered mumbles to full-volume howls and already iconic ad-libs. While he does try to switch things up, 14 songs is just a lot of Sheck Wes to take in at once. He’s at his best when he’s rapping from experience, whether he’s painting the walls of his Harlem upbringing with grimy resonance or repping his endeavors in basketball and high fashion. He strikes a good balance on the album’s closer, “Vetements Socks”, tempering his jagged-edged energy to suit a more low-key, atmospheric beat. Although it gets sidetracked by some songs that just feel like filler, ‘Mudboy’ still contains glimpses …

Heaven – [IAMNOBODI] feat. [Freddie Gibbs], [VanJess] & [Nick Grant]

L.A. based producer, IAMNOBODI has recruited Freddie Gibbs, VanJess and Nick Grant for his newest track, “Heaven.” The Soulection producer is right in his wheel house providing a groovy bass-line layered on top of bright hi-hats and drums that set the stage for the song’s talented features to shine. Nick Grant provides his verse first verse over the funk oozing production delivering braggadocios lines that smoothly transitions into VanJess’ soft chorus. Masterfully arranged, Freddie Gibbs interrupts the duo to speak on his own version of heaven, adding a coarse texture to the bright funky track. Whether you are in the car or at the house, “Heaven” will have you feeling like you are way above the clouds. Listen to IAMNOBODI’s new song, “Heaven” below and let us know if you are going to be blasting it into summer of next year!

Feels – [WebsterX]

A longtime favorite on our page, WebsterX just dropped off an exciting new single. On “Feels”, the Milwaukee native engages in a battle against unoriginality, letting off a full-on verbal attack aimed at the fakeness he sees in the world right now. His verses move like a pure stream of consciousness, transitioning between ideas as if a listener were literally watching his mind unfold in front of them. Each line carries the jagged edges of unfiltered emotion, as he raps, “I did not write this song at all—it wrote itself” on the track’s hook. An epic beat switch comes at the 2-minute mark, as the track erupts into a guitar-driven, angst-ridden rap ballad. Just as you catch the vibe of this second movement, WebsterX ends the song abruptly, leaving us wondering what his next move may be.

That’s Mine – [JAG]

An artist that goes by the name of JAG is making his Lyrical Lemonade debut tonight with his brand new offering titled “That’s Mine”! The first thing that caught my attention when I dove into this one is the super catchy instrumental, before JAG jumped on the beat and did his thing for three minutes straight. This new joint is of of his upcoming EP with “That’s Mine”, and if the title track gives any indication it’s clear that we are in for a treat.
