The Ones We Love – [Iris Temple]

It had been some time since the last time I have heard some new material from Iris Temple, but when they dropped a couple singles within the past few weeks I figured a whole tape was on the way, and sure enough today they are back with their brand new project titled “The Ones We Love”. I listened closely to each of the seven tracks provided and I found a liking to the sounds they out together, it’s an all around cohesive project that has some soothing,  ear pleasing and introspective cuts that make it up. Don’t take my word for it though, check out this new tape below and judge for yourself.

The Ones We Love EP – [Iris Temple]

Iris Temple is a breath of fresh air, to say the least. In a world polluted with negative energy, the Chicago duo adds a refreshing element of peace throughout their music. Last month, the artists made their way on our pages and today they find their way back after the release of their brand new EP entitled, “The Ones We Love.” To promote the new release, Iris Temple decided to partner with a local Chicago flower shop called Fleur to have the 7 song EP transformed from musical arrangements into 7 different and unique floral arrangements, making them the first ever band to release an EP through a florist. This new spin on promotion is definitely one of the coolest techniques I’ve ever heard of.  The 7-song project is amazing and I’m so hyped for you guys to hear it. I’ve attached the EP down below, so give it a listen and let us know what you think!

muddy water – [Banks The Genius]

Whether you know it or not, there’s a good chance you’ve already encountered Banks The Genius if you frequent the pages of Lyrical Lemonade. In addition to releasing his own music, the Chicago native has engineered and/or produced tracks for some LL favorites like J-Hop, Ajani Jones, Femdot, Iris Temple and more. This time, it’s all him, though, releasing a dope instrumental track entitled “muddy water.” A fitting name for the track, “muddy water” has a strong blues influence with a smoky guitar riff serving as the backbone of the cut. Though the strings drive the effort, Banks’ drums are so crisp–a testament to his engineering chop–and they really help give the effort some kick. Whether on his own or helping out his fellow Windy City artists, I’m sure we’ll see Banks The Genius back again soon! Stream “muddy water” at the link below!

Pretty Love – [Iris Temple]

Over the years, the city of Chicago has proved itself to be the go to spot when you want to discover dope music. Today, I’m really excited to introduce you all to a Chicago gem that deserves all the recognition in the world. Making their Lyrical Lemonade debut today is an electrifying duo that goes by the name of Iris temple. The duo is made up of Quinn Barlow and Quinn Cochran who made their start in Kansas before finally moving out to Chicago to truly chase their musical dreams; and after hearing their released music, it’s pretty safe to say that the two artists are actively turning their dreams into a reality. Today the duo just dropped a new single entitled Pretty Love, which was paired with a brand new music video to go along with it. The song itself is truly spectacular and the video is visually stunning to say the least! The Kansas City natives have mastered the art of production while displaying very mature vocal talents. It’s safe to say that they’re in a league of their own and can truly rise to be a great talent in this industry. Down below, I’ve attached the music …
