Flossin’ – [Internet Money] ft. [YoungBoy Never Broke Again]

As if it’s not already a known fact, Internet Money is a music industry powerhouse that’s full of the masterminds behind some of your favorite songs that have come out within the past handful of years. Taz Taylor is the mastermind behind this massively successful endeavor, and Nick Mira is one of the most prominent names in the entire music industry, not just on the extensive and always impressive Internet Money roster, and together, they’re a tag team that is seriously undefeated when compared to anyone else trying to make moves similar to them. While I’ve been waiting as patiently as possible for their B4 The Storm follow-up album ever since I saw just how magnificent a cohesive IM project could be a couple of years ago, I truly think that 2022 could be the year that we finally receive their sophomore album, and that’s something to get excited about, to say the least. They’re constantly grinding and working with promising up-and-comers as well as with household names, and even if they’re not releasing tracks on their own constantly, at least a few producers can be seen in the credits for some of the best songs out right now. So, …

Somebody I Know – [Era] ft. [Dro Kenji]

Considering it’s the year 2022, it should come as no surprise that Internet Money has been a breeding ground for some of the most talented up-and-comers in the hip-hop world, and their strength seems to grow by the week. Sure, they might work with superstars like Lil Uzi, Gunna, Future, Lil Tecca, The Kid LAROI, and way too many other talents to name, but their in-house roster is full of some of the most incredible producers, singers, and emcees in the game, making them a collective that simply can’t be ignored if you call yourself a music fan. Dro Kenji is an artist who I found myself gravitating towards the instant I first heard some of his early songs like “100 Rounds” or “Save Me” off of his debut project Tears and Pistols which came out at the end of 2020 and seeing how much potential he had back then has only snowballed into the successful career that he has maintained ever since. Era is a singer who might still be making his way up the rungs of the industry, but his voice is just so unique and special that it’s impossible for others to ignore him in any way …

Breakfast – [Cochise]

It seems like more often than not, I find out about an artist thanks to a feature on a song I had heard long before I realized that an artist blew up and wasn’t just a one-off addition to a record. I feel like this is because artists truly are the best A&Rs, so when they find out about a musician who might not be the most well-known name at the time, they understand their potential and know that they’re going to blow up at some point or another. This is how I first found out about Cochise, because he was included on the song “Right Now” alongside TyFontaine on Internet Money’s super successful debut album B4 The Storm that came out back in 2020, and it was from that very moment that I became obsessed with the Florida-native’s sound and unique style. His words might have been swift and hard to fully understand in the moment at times, but his personality and enthusiasm were two things that latched on to my brain and never let go. Since then, Cochise has blown up more than I expected in the period of time that proceeded that feature, securing a few viral …

Top 50 Chicago Projects of 2021

Every year, artists hailing from Chicago prove exactly why this is a city that belongs in the upper echelon of music, and this fact grows more abundantly obvious with every release that is put out. Whether a musician is world renown or locally recognized, there is never a shortage of creativity, effort, or innovation, and whether the rest of the country notices this or not, local fans are well aware of the goldmine that we are sitting on here in the Midwest.  Our goal here at Lyrical Lemonade has always been to shine a light on the remarkable sounds coming out of the city every single year, and even when we go in with certain expectations or presumptions, our minds are absolutely blown once we realize just how much dexterous and unique music was brought to life in the span of 12 short months. One thing that is inimitable within the local scene here is simply the sense of community because whether these talents are teaming up with one another or on entirely different levels of fame, everyone seems to show love to each other, ensuring their awareness of the eye-opening and head-turning styles that are being generated across the …

FINDERS KEEPERS – [Dro Kenji] ft. [Scorey] & [Internet Money]

Few artists have had a rise to fame quite like Dro Kenji, and despite his massive successes at the end of 2020 and this past year, it’s inspiring to think of all of the incredible things that are going to come his way when the masses finally decide to get their heads out of the clouds and listen in for real. After being plucked out of a challenging South Carolina music scene when gaining some attention from the powerhouse that is known as Internet Money, Dro found himself traveling all over the world while working with some of the biggest names in music, and this seemed to happen almost overnight. Nonetheless, Dro has proven exactly why he deserves a spot in the hierarchy of hip-hop music, and his work ethic has never let day one fans down whatsoever. Even though there never seems to be a shortage of new music from the blossoming star, he never fails to impress, and this is more apparent than ever on his latest release “FINDERS KEEPERS” featuring Polo G-signee Scorey and some more remarkable production from Nick Mira, Taz Taylor, and Nash of Internet Money. This track is the latest single off of Dro’s …

Proud of U – [Joony]

P.G. County’s Joony has been one of the most unexpected breakout young stars of 2021, captivating his region and the internet all at once thanks initially to his unforgettable mixtape Silent Battles that implanted him onto the radars of just about everyone who wasn’t aware of his prior underground output. This project was incredibly transparent and masterfully written as Joony has a knack for describing very complex feelings and navigating nuanced personal relationships in a terse and nonchalant way as if nothing could phase the young artist. He was soon after featured on Brent Faiyaz’s ultra rare DropBox release on the track “Paper Soldier” which introduced even more to his music and Joony shortly after capitalized on this newfound momentum with his Silent Battles Deluxe that gave fans new features as well as new styles we have been yet to hear from him. He continues to be prolific with his new EP Proud of U that is much shorter than the aforementioned projects but nonetheless potent and I enjoyed it every bit as much as the Silent Battles series, although for different reasons. To Joony, all love is fleeting, money is the main goal, a litmus test, and incredibly divisive, all at the same time …

Behind The “His & Hers” Music Video

The latest episode of our behind the video series is about “His & Hers” by Internet Money, Don Toliver, Lil Uzi Vert, and Gunna!

Beautiful – [Rot Ken] [SoFaygo]

Rot Ken and SoFaygo’s new track “Beautiful” is a testament to collaboration within the underground music community as two of Georgia’s hottest teenage acts came together for a very memorable visual, coming while Ken is locked-up in Augusta, but continuing his meteoric rise to fame which began earlier this year and has been propelled by the combination of JetsonMade’s BoyMeetSpace collective of producers and other artists who have all made astounding waves over the past several years far beyond just the most notable songs produced by Jetson. Internet Money has also been vital to Ken’s early jump in popularity as they continue to be internet kingmakers and Ken is certainly their new prince. Jetson received production support from Nick Mira, Taz Taylor, NeekoBaby, Payro, and John Luther, which goes to show just how intricate modern rap-production has become despite often being written-off as overly simplistic. I also love to see something like this from SoFaygo who has unquestionably already been finding mainstream success with viral snippets, signing to Travis Scott, and even a Lyrical Lemonade video that have served as his graduation from SoundCloud status, but nonetheless shows no fear to collaborate with another rising artist.  The duo of Man …

Already Dead – [Juice WRLD]

It’s never easy losing a loved one and having to say goodbye, but it can almost be even harder to say goodbye to one of your favorite musicians. Even though you may or may not have met them in person during their time here on Earth, so many artists wear their heart on their sleeve and reveal their innermost thoughts to the world through their music, and this can form a bond that can be even stronger than some of your bonds with family or friends. As far as Juice WRLD is concerned, he put his entire self out there for fans to consume, never shying away from topics of depression, struggle, drug abuse, and various other topics of conversation, and this was something that reminisced with fans from the day he first started making music. While his loss was one of the hardest things that the music industry has gone through in the past number of years, his work ethic and all-around love for music left us with an entire catalog of songs that are as remarkable as he was as a person. While I am torn about posthumous releases, I can’t deny the fact that I love listening …

VANISH – [Dro Kenji]

It should come as no secret that my catalog of artists runs deep and is rich with unbelievable talents. Whether I’m listening to a mainstream musician receiving billions of plays or an artist that barely has one hundred followers on social media, this means nothing to me. I truly don’t care about numbers whatsoever, but I focus mainly on skills and aptitudes, so when I first found out about Dro Kenji last year, I was blown away. Back then, he had many more listeners than he did even just a couple of months prior, but now knowing that he has blown up in the underground scene thanks to the help of Internet Money, I couldn’t think of someone who deserves it more. At the same time, I still think that he is grossly underrated when thinking about the quality as well as the quantity of music he has put out in the last year, but music fans are going to catch on sooner or later, and when that happens, it’s game over for everyone else. Just a couple of weeks ago, Dro released his Danny Wolf and Earl on the Beat-produced song “VANISH” which quickly became a mainstay on all …
