Honey Pack (Remix) – [BFB Da Packman] feat. [Lil Yachty] [DDG]

BFB Da Packman is slowly becoming a name that’s popping up more and more amongst the rap community. This past Friday the rising Houston, based by way of Flint, Michigan emcee dropped a remix to his “Honey Pack” single featuring Lil Yachty and DDG. It took me a while to gravitate to the whole Michigan and Detroit sound but I’ve found myself playing artist in that lane such as Sada Baby, DDG, and Baby Smoove a lot more. One thing that sets BFB Da Packman is his personality. He’s just a naturally funny guy and you can see his comedic side across his social media all the way through his music with his creative and witty bars. In this OshotYoufilmz and Arod2UP shot and directed film BFB, Yachty, and DDG can be seen partying at Sony Digital’s Club Digital with beautiful BBW’s. Watch the visuals for BFB Da Packman’s “Honey Pack” remix featuring Lil Yachty and DDG for yourself after the break.

Missiles – [Lil Gnar] ft. [Trippie Redd]

Out of all the up and coming artists I can think of in the music industry, Lil Gnar might just be one of the most captivating. I had known about him long before he started rapping because I’ve been a fan of his skate brand Gnarcotic, so when I heard that he was throwing his hat in the Rap ring, I figured I’d give him a chance. I’m so glad I made that decision, though, because he has been providing a steady stream of hits ever since his start. Most recently, he teamed up with none other than Trippie Redd to create a brand-new song called “Missiles” as well as a music video to accompany it. I’m not entirely sure who produced this track, but whoever it was did a fantastic job of providing an absolutely flawless foundation for Gnar and Trippie to go to town on. In the instrumental, you can find some powerful, momentous violin melodies coupled with intense percussion and thumping 808s. Once Gnar hits the microphone over this beat, you know it’s game over considering he begins with such aggression and assault in his words that make you take a step back and hope that he’s …

Pontiac Made DDG: From YouTuber to Rap Star in the Making

“People still talk shit now about me being a ‘YouTube rapper’ but I feel like its undeniable at this point. I’m on the radio, I got songs that are gold and getting tons of streams—like what else can I show them?” -DDG Gaining success on YouTube has become more and more of a common thing in the current generation of creatives. There are tons of people who make a living from their YouTube career. Even while gaining tons of views, subscribers and followers, there seems to be a stigma about when YouTube influencers begin to branch off into other business ventures. Lots of people think it’s not a genuine fanbase, they only succeed because their subscribers will support anything that they do, and they don’t think its fair to those who may be starting from the bottom. For DDG, he has seen it and heard it all before, and he isn’t letting that stop him at all. DDG (also known as Pontiac Made DDG) earned tons on success on his multiple YouTube channels which all currently have over 9 million subscribers combined. Being no stranger to what the fame may feel like, DDG decided to venture off into the rap …

Rice – [Valee]

One of my favorite parts about the music scene in Chicago is the diversity of sounds that artists are producing constantly. There are certain subgenres of Hip-Hop and Rap that sound so unique and different that it’s hard to fathom they’re from the same iconic city, let alone the same planet in general. Although Valee might seem as if he’s making some of the most minimalistic music out, it’s truly anything but. The amount of time and effort he must put into his unmatched flows as well as his always entertaining lyricism has to take an abundance of effort, and these inventive aspects of his music have constantly compelled me to tune into every new release he puts out. Most recently, he dropped off a loosie in the form of a song called “Rice” as well as a visual to accompany it. Valee’s singles are often quick hits of artistry that barely last longer than a minute which allows him to get in, make some magic, and vanish, with this release being no different. KiltKarter takes the helm on the production for this hit, using lighthearted, space-like synths that are elevated by crisp, tapping percussion and unique, thumping drums that …

Famous – [Octavian] ft. [Gunna] & [SAINt JHN]

Octavian is an artist who I was just recently put onto, but I’ve enjoyed pretty much everything I’ve heard from him. Being from London, it’s easy to write him off as another grime artist because that’s what’s expected but I’ve learned to truly expect the unexpected with the young talent. He doesn’t stick to just one genre or type of music but rather dips his toe into other influences to truly keep his music fresh and inventive. You never really know what you’re going to get before pressing play on any of his offerings, but by the time you’re finished listening, you find yourself always craving more. As he gears up to release his next album which I’m not entirely sure when it’s going to drop, he decided to give his fans a present in the form of a brand-new single entitled “Famous”, and recruited hitmakers Gunna and SAINt JHN to assist him with some of the best verses you’ll hear all day. The beat is dreamy and divine, using synths that seem to be filtered in order to sound like they’re being played underwater as mystifying chimes come into the picture in the distance. When the drums and percussive …

Limbo-[Postcard Boy]

Getting to look back on previous artists who I’ve been early on since day one is always one of the greatest joys of writing. Flashback to January of 2019, I stumbled on an up and coming artist named Postcard Boy who sparked my interest in every way. After hearing his song, “Coffin” which featured well-known New Zealand artist, Tom Verberne, I knew there was something special brewing in the atmosphere of his artistry. Fast forward all the way to present day and Postcard Boy has created an impressive discography of amazing songs; songs that have led up to his sophomore EP called “Limbo” that just dropped this week. There was a lot of excitement and anticipation surrounding this body of work and after taking a listen to the collection of songs, he doesn’t miss, come up short, or disappoint whatsoever. The 6 song, 20 minute offering might just be my favorite showing of the San Diego Native. Infusing so many different sounds and styles, Postcard Boy shows off his immense versatility and innate talent for music making. When we watch any type of sporting event and witness an athlete “in their zone”, it’s one of the most coveted spectacles to …

BEAM – [Reece]

As the R&B genre continues to boom with new and inspiring voices, one name is an absolute must to add to your list. Reece, a Virginia native, and truly talented vocalist appears to be finding a stride as he continues to marry his impressive vocal ability with stimulating production that utterly compliments his dynamic range of sound. His latest release, a two-pack of songs featuring “Beam” and the previously released single, “K,” highlights the duality of his personality and shifting sonic ability. Although some of his previous work has found Reece gripping the airy space created by slowed, minimalist production his latest release shows his ability to not only address records with vulnerability and melancholy sentiments but with unwavering confidence and spirit. “Due to the current state of the world, naturally, I’ve been sad. So I did what I do when I’m sad – dyed my hair, put on my nicest clothes, sat down, and wrote a song. 30 minutes later “BEAM” was born. It’s just about feeling fly as fuck.” Listen to the two-pack release, BEAM, by Reece below.

3 Headed Goat – [Lil Durk] ft. [Lil Baby] & [Polo G]

Lil Durk is ready to release his forthcoming and highly anticipated project Just Cause Y’all Waited 2 tomorrow, and fans could have higher hopes, especially after all the singles he has dropped thus far. After releasing the tracklist just yesterday, it appears as if the brunt of the project is going to be handled by the Chicago Drill legend, but he will have a couple of collaborators to help him out such as G Herbo, Polo G, Lil Baby, and Gunna, who seems to have a guest spot on any and all new Rap projects as of recently. In order to give fans one final preview of the album, he recruited fellow Chicagoan Polo G along with a taste of the south in Lil Baby for one more single entitled “3 Headed Goat”. Three goats are exactly what this song features, and I love the different worlds these artists live in while also sharing common bonds over certain topics. Durk is the OG of the group who helped bring Drill music from Chicago to a much larger audience. Polo G is the rising young Chicago icon who has truly made waves thus far but still has a lot to prove …

LL Presents: The Julian Lamadrid Q&A

Authenticity often gets lost in the constant shuffle of society, so whenever you stumble upon someone who still maintains that aspect of their character, it’s always refreshing. Today, on the pages of Lyrical Lemonade, I’m excited to bring to y’all an artist who embodies authenticity. If you haven’t heard of Julian Lamadrid, then today is your lucky day. After hearing his latest release for a song entitled, “Cigarette”, I hopped on the phone with him to get some insight about the song, but left all the more enamored with his overall story as an artist. When I asked him the simple question “Where are you from?” Julian laughed and proceeded to tell me that this specific part of his life is confusing yet interesting to say the least. Julian’s parents are from Mexico, but he was born in Dubai and went to British schools his entire life. The melting pot of culture that Julian has been a part of is most definitely prevalent in his music; which was always an interest of his. “I was always interested in music from a young age. In my mind, there was nothing more stylish than being a rock star. Growing up, I idolized …

Yo-Yo – [Contradash]

In the music world, innovation often comes with a tint of inspiration. Accordingly so, artistic progression over the years has come as a result of taking influence from an existing sound and twisting it into something new, all while building atop a foundation of established sonics. Such is the case with Contradash — an incredible, genre-blending talent, here to make his Lyrical Lemonade debut with a new single entitled “Yo-Yo.” Being that this song is my introduction to Contradash, I can’t say that I’m previously familiar with his sound, but “Yo-Yo” clearly brings something new to the table. Crafting a blend of polished, pop-friendly production with muddied, electronic vocals, an element of alternative influence, and a hint of sound-blending glory, “Yo-Yo” is the kind of release that refuses to be boxed in, but certainly holds an undeniable allure. Whether that allure be sheer curiosity as to how Contradash is coming up with such an eclectic style, or a turn toward what sounds like the future of music, “Yo-Yo” tells us that there’s something here, and something disruptive. If not anything else, Contradash’s latest feels like a step forward, so don’t sleep. Stream this one below! Produced by Sage Roberge Mixed and …
