They Can’t FWM – [Icewear Vezzo]

I’m so used to underground artists putting out an influx of music while mainstream talents get away with sometimes only dropping something new once in a blue moon. While it makes sense for the up-and-comers to want to get as much music out as possible to increase their chances of success in this industry, I feel like the bigger names are given too much of a break and need to continue to expand on their work ethic as they celebrate their success. Now, I’m not here to lecture or complain, I just love hearing new music, but then again, who doesn’t? Obviously, there are exemptions to my previous statement, and the biggest exception I could ever think of is Icewear Vezzo, a Detroit spitter who makes nothing but hits, and lots of them. While he is certainly no longer an underground emcee, I don’t know if you could classify him as a mainstream rapper either, but with the music he makes, it seems like this is his choice, not anyone else’s. Vezzo just doesn’t appear to ever sleep or even leave the studio, for that matter, because not a week goes by when there isn’t a brand-new song, video, or …

New Music Friday With $NOT, BabyK Osama, Rich Amiri, and Yella Beezy!

Friday is always the best day of the week with new releases from some of our favorite artists! First up we have 19-year-old BabyK Osama with his latest single “Ticket” on all streaming platforms. The Simple Stupid / Geffen Records signee has been making some noise ever since he was released from prison last spring. In a short span of time, the Jacksonville rapper has released five projects and hasn’t shown any signs of letting up anytime soon. In the visuals for his latest single, BabyK Osama was surrounded by exotic cars as he raps over a feverish instrumental. His signature Jacksonville flow mixed with his blazing wordplay created a head-spinning single. I look forward to watching his career advance this year! Gold-selling recording artist Yella Beezy delivered his latest mixtape titled Bad Azz Yella Boy. Yella rose to fame in 2017 after releasing his mixtape Lite Work, Volume which included his hit record “That’s On Me” which debuted at 37 on Billboard’s Hot 100 charts and earned 200M+ video views. His career has been a journey, but his latest mixtape is a testimony of all the work Yella has been putting in and finally enjoying the seeds of his …

Thinkin’ – [Lil Aaron Japan]

There are a few different regions beginning to take over the Rap industry, and it might shock some people to find out that Atlanta, LA, and NYC aren’t in the conversation as much as they were even two or three years ago. Obviously, those cities will always be massive hubs for music, but places like Florida, DMV, and especially Michigan are taking over the entire soundscape of the genre. While Milwaukee native Lil Aaron Japan might not be able to rep any of the aforementioned regions himself, he’s definitely putting on for his city and making a name for himself in his own unique way, even if he’s doing so while currently living in Houston. When my homie hit me up and told me to peep Aaron’s latest song “Thinkin’”, I had no clue what I was in for, and although this is legitimately the only record I’ve heard from the rising talent, I was fully enthralled and can’t wait to dive even deeper into his other music. As far as the instrumental goes, the remarkable producer beatzbyt4 brought the beat to life with mischievous piano chords, hesitant yet impactful percussion sounds, and relaxed, tranquil drums that combine for a …

Bad Habits – [Tay Keith] x [Fast Cash Boyz] x [Murda Beatz]

As their much-anticipated album gets set for release in May, Tay Keith and the Fast Cash Boys have released their newest track, “Bad Habits,” a fiery and uptempo joint co-produced by two of the hottest producers in the game in Tay Kieth and Murda Beatz. The dreamy, but vivacious instrumental constructed by the two allow the Memphis-bred Fast Cash Boyz to spit some of their best work, in which I find myself bobbing and weaving to through its entirety. “Addicted to the hustle, on my mother’s son.” The group obviously has their mind right, making a brilliant single such as this as a precursor to what only can be a masterpiece of a project this coming May. “Bad Habits” is an ode to some of the patterns and customs we as individuals can’t seem to break out of, though in this instance the group seems to somewhat embrace these habits as they continue to live life freely and joyously. As the group continues to amplify their name and brand with the help of big-name producers such as these two, expect only bigger and better things to come in the near future. Stream, “Bad Habits,” below!

Lil Wayne is one of the greatest musicians walking the planet, hands down, and he recently stopped by the Drink Champs Podcast for an amazing new interview! She Don’t Love Me – [Kevin George] Ft. [Gunna]

An artist that goes by the name of Kevin George is making his Lyrical Lemonade debut tonight with his brand new offering titled “She Don’t Love Me” featuring Gunna! The first thing that caught my attention on this record was the CashMoneyAP tag at the beginning so you already knew it was going to be a hit, AP teamed up with TheBeatzEra who helped him cook up this beat & they did a phenomenal job. When Kevin George jumped on the track I was extremely impressed with his crisp vocal performance, proving listeners with a catchy hook as well as a solid verse. The feature toward the middle of this track from Gunna took it to that next level, as his impactful contribution complimented Kevin perfect on their way to creating this amazing cut. Take a few minutes to check out this brand new record below and if you like it be sure to keep up with Kevin by giving him a follow on Twitter here!
