Bellwood Product – [Caleb Steph]

In life, we’re all a product of our environment to an extent, and further, we all possess an innate pride and love for our origins, wherever they may be. Music often reflects this sentiment, as rap’s obsession with geographic location often yields thoughtful reflections of parts of the country that we may never visit, but can temporarily transport to through music. Proving this exact idea today, one of my favorite recent discoveries, Caleb Steph, is here with his highly-anticipated debut project, Bellwood Product. Paying homage to the apartments where Steph was raised, this Virginia-minded EP brings listeners directly into the complexities of the budding talent’s world, as visions of temptations both good and evil constantly push back and forth from the opening seconds all the way to the album’s close. Throughout the space in between, Steph provides ample evidence of the lyrical prowess that listeners have come to know and love him for, producing an album of two central functions: first, to introduce Caleb Steph to the world and track the journey that made him the man he is today, and second, to illustrate a raw, soul-stricken display of the atmosphere and circumstances that we often aren’t exposed to. Trapped – [Caleb Steph]

Virginia artist Caleb Steph made his Lyrical Lemonade debut a few weeks ago with the infectious offering, “Can I Talk,” and today, he’s here to prove that the hype is real with yet another fantastic release, “Trapped.” Taking his pent-up energy out against the soul-stricken instrumental, this song and video perfectly show the ways in which music can be viewed as an outlet. Steph lets loose his pure honesty through a slew of hard-nosed deliveries and impassioned lyrics, making sure to bring listeners into his world for every second of the nearly 3-minute release. With “Trapped,” it’s more than clear that Caleb Steph has something to say, and at all costs, he’s going to make sure he gets his message across. The result of this mentality is a song just as energetic as it is true-to-self and instinctive, devoid of any time for doubt. I wasn’t sure how Steph was going to follow up “Can I Talk” considering how impressive that song was, but clearly, he’s ready to continue the hot streak and then some. Can I Talk – [Caleb Steph]

Here at Lyrical Lemonade, music discovery is at the center of everything we do, and naturally so, it’s always an incredibly rewarding feeling when we’re able to put our readers on to an artist who we truly feel like is about to blow up. Today, such is the case with a Virginia-based talent by the name of Caleb Steph, here to unveil his energetic new single, “Can I Talk”. As denoted by the title, this offering displays an endless hunger for one’s voice, allowing Steph to infuse some deeply-ridden passion into his vocals. The instrumental follows with this up with a hard-nosed charm, and as a result, both the vocals and instrumentals here push one another forward on an insuppressible rise toward the top. While this is the first I’ve ever heard of Caleb Steph, it certainly won’t be the last, as “Can I Talk” provides evidence of some truly remarkable potential for the rising artist.
