Satisfy My Soul – [BigBodyFiji]

BigBodyFiji is a Chicago gem who has been a fan favorite on our pages here for some years now, and earlier today he released a brand new record titled “Satisfy My Soul”. You can always trust that BigBodyFiji is going to stretch the creative imagination when he creates music, he has never made a dull song and he didn’t’ start now, in fact he created one of his most abstract tracks to date and let me be the first to tell you it’s a banger! The crazy instrumental that producer Seer whipped up on this was nothing like I have ever heard before, and Fiji took advantage of the beat in front of him and made a track that’s sure to be in rotation for the rest of the year. Check out this new song below and if you like it follow Fiji here.

LL Presents: The Matty Wood$ Q&A

Matty Wood$ is a creative out of St. Louis who I have been covering here on our website for some years now, but when he was recently in Chicago I brought him to the Lyrical Lemonade office for our first conversation face to face, and in turn we now have a dope new Q&A for the fans! Not only is Matty a super talented artist who creates great music, he has the overall look & charisma of a superstar and he just might be one of the funniest rappers I have ever met, and I am sure those traits will help him down the road. Most importantly, Matty has a great group of solid individuals around him in his 2200 crew that are going to keep him improving at all times, the sky is truly the limit for this young legend. Stream his latest album I’l Be Fine below while you check out the Q&A, and after you’re done be sure to follow Matty on Twitter here! — EM: Before we dive into the questions, give our readers who may not be familiar with you a brief introduction of yourself.   MW: You know who it is, Tony T, Matty …

Fake Love – [BiGBODYFIJI]

BiGBODYFIJI is certainly no stranger to our pages at this point, and today, he’s here to keep the win streak going with an impressive new video for the infectious cut, “Fake Love”. Produced by Dexter and shot by @DSTNTNVISUALS, this unforgettable offering takes fan right into the creative mind of FIJI and the world of hits that he’s sitting on. Flex-worthy scenes of dancing, money, cars, and more remind us that the Chicago native’s stocks are on the rise, and acting as a complimentary companion, “Fake Love” lets us know that the rising talent is ten toes down no matter what happens. That said, this release speaks for itself in terms of BiGBODYFIJI’s ambitions for the top spot, so be sure to click play below and let us know what you think in the comments!

U.S.D.A – [Jose Franco] x [BiGBODYFiJi]

Jose Franco and BiGBODYFiJi have both made appearances on our page before, and today, the two Chicago rappers have linked up on a new track titled “U.S.D.A”. The Decent Militia collaborators bring their A-game on this cut, feeding off each other’s energy to offer something that feels completely organic. At the same time, they’re on a mission to separate what’s real from what’s fake and ready to shut down whoever’s trying to start beef. Luke Almighty lends his signature touch on the beat, making sure the trap production knocks as it should and supplying FiJi and Franco with some glorious gospel/choir samples that elevate their bars. Chicago’s Decent Militia collective is also hosting an Open Format show Friday night at East Room (2354 N Milwaukee). If you like what you hear, come see the crew in action—show starts at 9pm and is 21+.

For The Sport- [Monster Mike]

Happy 19 day ladies and gentlemen, in honor of such a prestigious holiday we would like to present to our readers a brand new EP titled, For The Sport, featuring the gritty stylings of Chicago’s own, Monster Mike and hypnotizing instrumentation from heavyweight underground producer, Luke Almighty. This project is unlike anything we have ever seen from Mike due to his experimentation with new melodies and harder flows, but one thing that has remained the same is the relatable, authentic lyricism he employs on every track. Sure maybe not everyone dabbles with substances as much as the 19 veteran but throw in some booming Luke Almighty production, clever Rick and Morty lines, and an unlimited arsenal of sports references and you have the ingredients for an incredibly iconic tape. Balancing slower paced, thoughtful anthems with tenacious hard-hitting bangers there is truly something for every rap listener. Be on the lookout for Lil Up who proves he is destined for greatness by killing his catchy features on the project. BiGBODYFiJi, Roo$ki, Iceface, Robbie B. also make memorable appearances on the EP while Deaf co-produced the first track with Luke. Overall, this is a great listen from start to end so click play on For The …

Sowereefz and Fiji are working 25 hours a day 8 days a week on their latest Squared Hill Exclusive. If you know either of them you know they have been early supporters of the Chicago skate brand, Quarterbrick, with Sower rapping, “Quarterbrick on my fuckin shirt, aye yo Fiji put em in the dirt”, so it only makes sense the song premiered on the Quarterbrick Soundcloud.
