FAZEZ -[BabyDraco]

New Jersey born, Atlanta based artist BabyDraco lands in our pages once again. It has been very fun to watch his journey as an artist unfold over the last few years, starting with his earliest release ROADRUNNER originally under the moniker Big Draco where he began to dazzle listeners with his sweet melodic tones and impermeable beat selection where he gravitated to some of the most catchy production around with mostly all new names in the beat-making world. He followed this up with a catchy streak of singles that led into his follow-up EP babydraco which ended up being a self-titled release after he changed his name to avoid confusion with Soulja Boy, despite the fact that Draco had already been calling himself that for years. He is back today with his newest full-length project titled FAZEZ which shows a dramatically increased sonic maturity as Draco builds upon each of the melodic pillars he has put into place thus far and even heads in new, more experimental directions where he plays around with new instrumental styles and finds new range in his vocals both with the help of effects and not. Kevin Kazi who has been a consistent collaborator of …

RICH JUNKIES – [Austin Skinner]

The DMV is absolutely oozing with talent, and they have been for years. In fact, I personally credit that area for really making the SoundCloud scene the popular and powerful underground force that it was a handful of years back because I think the majority of the artists that opened my mind up to different genres, variations, and sounds mostly came from this region. Maybe it was just for me personally, but the DMV really impacted me in a major way, and Austin Skinner is one of the artists that I think changed the game early on, so the fact that he didn’t break into the mainstream years ago baffles me. Regardless, he has this workhorse mentality that I don’t think will ever change no matter how big he becomes, and that’s huge because I truly and honestly believe that he is going to be an immense star, but people just have to catch up for some reason. Although he is known for dropping copious amounts of music all year long, I was pleasantly surprised just as much as I was excited to find out that he was releasing an album called RICH JUNKIES. Now listen, this isn’t just any …

Bloodbath – [Austin Skinner]

Austin Skinner isn’t just the homie, but if you’re somehow unfamiliar with the Virginia-born emcee, you need to know that he is one of the most compelling and entertaining artists in the entire underground music scene, and he has been making his own waves for quite a few years, at this point. He has worked with some extremely notable names throughout the years, and he always shines on these songs whether he’s the feature or he has the other artists as guests, but somehow the mainstream industry has overlooked his talents, and it’s about damn time that they start to listen up and pay him the respect that he deserves. Well, if you didn’t already hear about it, Austin has a project called Rich Junkies dropping in just two short days, and considering this album has a whopping 34 songs on it, this isn’t your average, run of the mill mixtape, and I think it’s going to open people’s eyes to the potential and skillset that Austin has been showing off for years. Normally, I wouldn’t be too hyped about this lengthy of a project because it’s just too long in the current day and age of music, but he …

WHEREIMAT – [Austin Skinner]

If there is one collective that I feel as if I have written copious amounts of articles on, it has to be Better Temperatures. This group contains artists like BIGBABYGUCCI, Austin Skinner, 30ROCK, and more, and although it might be a relatively close-knit group of artists, they are making some major waves in the underground scene, and I couldn’t be happier to be here right now to witness it first-hand. Out of their whole lineup, Austin is not only one of my favorite emcees, but I have been lucky enough to consider him the homie as well, so I always try my best to tap in with his music whenever he drops something new. I’ve had a lot of life changes recently, and although I don’t like making excuses, I somehow let his album WHEREIMAT slip through my fingers when it was released a few weeks back, but after I realized this, it instantly took precedence over anything else on my list and was moved straight to the top. I’m so glad I made this a priority, too, because even though it doesn’t have the longest run time (it runs just over 18 minutes long), each of these 8 songs …

Paralyzed – [YSB Tril] ft. [midwxst]

The East Coast has always been a music mecca ever since hip-hop became a thing, but the majority of credit typically goes to New York City more than anywhere else. While I feel like the West coast gets love all the way from north to south, the other side of the country seems to be a bit more singular, at least in terms of mainstream music. Nonetheless, fans of smaller, more underground artists know just how much talent oozes from other parts of the Eastern border, and that’s thanks to areas like North Carolina and the DMV area, amongst others. Artists like BIGBABYGUCCI, Austin Skinner, Lil Xelly, and more have been lighting the underground scene ablaze and putting on for their respective cities and states, but the talent pool runs much deeper than that. YSB Tril is a young talent who I believe I may have only covered once prior to this, but I am definitely blown away by not only his talents but his accomplishments so far at such a young age. Racking up even a million streams isn’t an easy feat, yet Tril has done so more than 10 times over, and his numbers only continue to skyrocket. …

never know – [Austin Skinner] ft. [BIGBABYGUCCI]

It hasn’t been too long since we last heard from Virginia’s very own Austin Skinner, but that doesn’t surprise me. He and his whole Better Temperatures crew always seem to keep their noses to the grindstone in order to constantly provide fans with new music, and even though. He definitely has a very specific and inimitable sound in most of his songs, he manages to constantly keep things fresh for listeners, and that’s something I appreciate more than anything else. It’s obvious that he has become close with BIGBABYGUCCI who is one of the founders of their label Better Temperatures, but the fact that these two just work so well together and understand one another’s music-making process helps to not only bring out the best in each other but also ensures that one artist never overshadows the other, instead bringing out the best of each individual skill set that they possess. To my pleasant surprise, Austin dropped off a brand-new track today entitled “never know” which features GUCCI as well, and hearing them on another new record together just further solidifies my standpoint on their relationship. This hit was produced by raiin who includes some eloquent piano keys alongside synthy …

won’t say 2 much – [Austin Skinner]

Austin Skinner is an artist who I’ve had on my radar for a couple of years, at this point, but it wasn’t until the last six months or so that I truly began to appreciate his music for just how incredible it really is. He has this way of combining his commanding vocals with deep, powerful synths that work together so remarkably well, but he also constantly ensures that he’s not just putting out the same style of music, switching things up with ease in order to keep his foot on the gas and not slow down for even a second. Ever since teaming up with BIGBABYGUCCI and their Better Temperatures label, it seems like his skills have only sharpened and his creativity is at an all-time high, so now more than ever is the moment in time that you need to pay attention to what he’s doing within his very captivating and fruitful career. He’s never one to go too long without releasing something new, and today he kept that streak going with the release of his latest single “won’t say 2 much”. Produced by Sapjer and Joe Dirt, things open up with a part of the instrumental that …

DETACHED – [Austin Skinner]

I love the underground music scene because once I find out about one artist, they almost always lead me to an entire world of new talents that I might’ve never found out about had I not known about the initial artist in the first place. It almost feels like a constantly growing tree, and the more branches I venture out into, the more unbelievable talent I discover, which I have turned into a mission of mine to put as many people on to these unbelievably skilled individuals as I can. Austin Skinner is definitely one of these artists, and while I was put onto him after his work with BIGBABYGUCCI and ITSOKTOCRY, I was fully engrossed in the sonic world he was creating. Not only that, but he has also introduced me to countless other artists he has worked with in the past as well which helps me continue branching out and diversifying my musical taste. While I don’t think Austin can do any wrong whatsoever, he continues his hot streak with his brand0new album DETACHED, and after I realized it released, I stopped everything I was doing and tuned in. When I saw him hyping it up for the …

Elegant – [Austin Skinner]

Austin Skinner is undeniably one of the most exciting up-and-coming talents in the entire industry, yet he still seems to remain as underrated as they come. He has the ability to switch up his styles, adapt to different productions and sounds, and no matter what kind of beat is placed in front of him, he legitimately never releases a bad verse, keeping his streak consistently strong since entering the industry years ago. While I’ve been a fan for a number of years and know just how special of a talent he is, others are going to catch on sooner or later, and BIGBABYGUCCI saw the same exact thing, recently recruiting him to be a part of his Better Temperatures label. In my opinion, this was a great move for both Austin and GUCCI, and seeing how well they work together since joining forces makes me even more confident in the future as well. Over the weekend, Austin decided to drop off an amazing new music video for his song called “Elegant”, and I couldn’t be more excited to share. Directed by Aaron Fenichell and Dante Napoli, they bring this ProdByEvn song to life in an awesome fashion that shows his …

New Check – [Better Temperatures] ft. [BIGBABYGUCCI] [Austin Skinner] [30ROCK]

Not very long ago at all, BIGBABYGUCCI announced his own independent label that was going to be known as Better Temperatures. While it seemed like he was already considered a legend in the underground, I respected the fact that he wanted to take others under his wing and help promising up and comers out as well. Considering I was already a big Austin Skinner fan, when I saw his addition to the group, I was beyond stoked, and although 30ROCK was a new name, I’ve grown quite the admiration for his skills ever since tuning into all of BT’s music since their start. When I first heard their song “New Check” a couple of months ago, I was all in. This was the label’s first record that they had put out together, and not only was the beat incredible, but it was also just amazing to see how well all three artists worked together as their chemistry was obvious and marvelous. Obviously, I’m still craving new music, but I was beyond excited to see that the dynamic trio decided to team back up for their first official music video as a group, recruiting Reel Bump to shoot this flick for …
