Vanity – [Ausar] x [femdot]

Anyone who is tapped in with Ausar knows that he is one of the best most promising young musicians that Chicago has to offer, and we also know that he rarely drops music, so when he does, it feels like a holiday. A few days ago, Ausar unleashed his new single titled “Vanity” featuring fellow Chicagoan femdot, and it’s one of the best pieces of music that you will hear today. These are without a doubt two of the best pure rappers in the entire midwest, so when you put them over some @SouthpawSwade production, it’s simply a recipe for success. This appears to be the first single on Ausar’s upcoming project, hopefully, he actually releases this project, and it doesn’t get shelved for like five years… Anyways, give this new record a listen below!

Homies – [Ausar]

I have been a big supporter of Ausar’s music for at least five years now, he has always stood out to me, and it’s been dope to see more and more people catching onto him lately. Today, Ausar is blessing us with a new record called “Homies”, a gift for his fans that he decided to release on his own birthday! Watching the growth of Ausar’s artist over the years had been a true honor, he has continuously been improving, and this new joint shows how much he has got better at created ear-pleasing songs. I personally love this new track, it’s a good listen and something I feel like any music lover will enjoy. Don’t take my word for it though, check it out of yourself below! Happy birthday Ausar from all of us here at Lyrical Lemonade!

Paradise – [Ausar]

I have been covering Ausar’s music on Lyrical Lemonade since 2015, he has been getting better + better throughout the years, and at this moment in time, he is without a doubt one of the most promising rappers that Chicago has to offer. A few days back, Ausar released a new record called “Paradise” with some assistance from Thelonious Martin, and it’s one of the best songs I’ve heard so far this month. First and foremost, this instrumental from Thelo is so ridiculously good that it doesn’t even make sense, and when you give someone as skilled as Ausar this type of beat to work with, it’s over for. I am so proud of Ausar + how far he has come as a musician, I know he still has a far way to go to where he wants to get, but man we have to give him his flowers while we can. Also, shout out to Thelonious Martin for consistently helping rising artists from Chicago craft their sound, he’s a wildly successful producer who works with plenty of iconic artists, but he always makes sure to lend a helping hand to the young Chicago artists, it’s appreciated + never goes …

COMPLICATIONS [Jay Wood] x [Ausar] x [Namesake]

Chicago’s very own Jay Wood returns to Lyrical Lemonade with a star studded song entitled “COMPLICATIONS.” Specifically off his new  QUALITY TIME EP, this highlighted track features fellow ‘buzzing‘ Chicago artist Ausar and production from the ever-evolving KC bred producer Namesake. QUALITY TIME specifically follows Jay Wood’s debut EP TRACKSTAR, which deservedly put the rising artist on a skilled musical playing field. Depicting dissension in complicated relationships, both artists share their perspectives on how to resolve their corresponding conflicts. The sensual braggadocious lyricism of Wood meshes nicely with the softer spoken verse of Ausar, which is then combined to demonstrate their dual vocalist capabilities. Truly crafted to perfection, I honestly couldn’t praise Namesake’s beat enough. The record’s melody is sonically and architecturally elevated to wave-like altitudes to create a harmonious listening experience. Overall, the trifecta of talent is evenly distributed and calibrated for a standout hit off a short, yet impressive project. Listen to ‘COMPLICATIONS” below!

EVOL – [Outer(Net)]

Outer(Net) is a collective out of Chicago that formed early last night before the worldwide pandemic completely shut down the music industry + everything else, but right before the shutdown, the last concert I had the honor of witnessing was their performance at Schubas. Outer(Net) consists of some of the most skilled young emcees in the Chicagoland area including Ausar, IsaiahG, Myquale, Kiraly Payne, and last but certainly not least, Aaron Deux. This record, “EVOL”, actually premiered on our website last February when it was released, and I am so glad to see it finally get a visual almost a year later. I believe in each and every one of these creatives so much, I love that they have clicked up + I am hoping that they continue to bless us with new content. Peep this brand new music video below! Top 50 Chicago Projects of 2020

It’s obvious that 2020 didn’t turn out nearly how anyone expected at the top of the year. With a global pandemic shaking things up, a pivotal presidential election coming to a head, numerous generational talents passing away, and racial injustice protests taking place across the country, it’s safe to say that this year was beyond unpredictable from even the most seasoned psychics. Nonetheless, Chicago persevered like only we know-how, bringing attention to these issues while also divulging into a plethora of other, more personal narratives in the form of music. Throughout the year, some mainstays in the city continued to impress us here at Lyrical Lemonade while other up-and-comers made some very valid, attention-grabbing claims as to why they’re the next rising star that deserves a place at the table. Also worthy of note, Chicago had some truly excruciating losses this year in terms of music legends whose work still shined through as some of the most impressive of the year, primed to carry on their legacy for years to come. All of that said, we’re more than excited to round this farfetched year out with Lyrical Lemonade’s Top 50 Chicago Projects of 2020. This is our 5th year bringing …

BB King Interlude – [Kiraly Payne] x [Isaiah G]

Kiraly Payne and Isaiah G are two artists that have been featured on our website countless times in the past, and today they are back with the release of their brand new music video for the “BB King Interlude”. Both of these emcees have special traits that I have highlighted on our platform before, and when they work together these skillsets get even sharper, they bring out the best in each other if you ask me. Both of these creatives are apart of Outer(net), a collective out of Chicago that has a number of elite rappers such as Myquale + Ausar to name a couple, so if you like this release the odds are that you will enjoy Outer(net) as a whole. Watch Ausar’s new interview on Illanoize Radio

Illanoize Radio is a fantastic platform based here in Chicago that consists of Bekoe, Pretty Riot & Illinois Jones, and they all do fantastic work that benefits the Chicago music community. On their latest episode, the three of them interviewed Ausar, an amazing artist + good friend of mine. They spoke about plenty of subjects including his experience on Rhythm & Flow, auditioning for American Idol, his new project Flight Of The Honey Bee, the idea behind the cover of the project, asking Lupe Fiasco about arpeggios on Clubhouse, what he’s learned about himself during the pandemic and everything else that he has been up to. Take some time out of your Tuesday to watch this new interview below!

The Flight Of The Honeybee – [Ausar]

Over my past six years covering the Chicago music scene, Ausar is without a doubt one of the most skilled + gifted emcees that I have had the pleasure of getting to know. He never really got the full chance to focus on music during my first few years of knowing him because he was busy getting a degree from the University of Illinois, but since graduating not too long ago, he has had more time to put into his craft. I (and many others) have been hounding Ausar for years because he loves to not put out projects, so earlier this year when he announced that he would be releasing an EP at some point, I made sure to stay on him about following through with the release because I was so excited to hear it. A couple of days ago, Ausar blessed us with his new EP titled Flight Of The Honeybee, and it’s already one of my favorite Chicago projects of the year. This is a five-song tape that is based around, you guessed it, honeybees! I know when you hear that the first time, you might be like, what? But trust me, this man Ausar made …

Moesha – [Ausar]

Ausar is one of the most creative new acts to come out of Chicago, he always seems to go above and beyond with his visuals, and today he is back with one of his best videos yet, for “Moesha”. This isn’t your average music video, Ausar + the video director Boots did a playful spin-off of the sitcom series from the ’90s, and I thoroughly enjoyed the concept. The song itself though was a silky smooth joint that found Ausar penning some introspective lyrics about his future + his family, while the video found him hanging out with some familiar faces, as he played the role of Chingy. This was an excellent release, I enjoyed everything except for two things; why did Ro have a pillow on his head and why was Ausar laying on the bed upside down like that, he’s too tall for all that. Anyways, watch this new visual below!
