RRWYL – [Gretchen]

As a writer, there’s truly no greater joy than finding good music and having the opportunity to pass it along to others. What’s even better though is that I also have the distinct privilege of finding great people and getting to tell others about them. I spend a lot of my days connecting with different artists and learning about them in a way that goes deeper than their Spotify Discography. You take away music and all we’re left with are the relationships we’ve made, which is why its so important that I not only feature good musicians on here but also good souls. A good soul who I’ve had the opportunity to cross paths with is an artist named Gretchen. Over the past couple of months, Lyrical Lemonade has been home to some pretty impressive artists from Nashville, Tennessee (Ash Leone, Bren Joy, Landon Sears, etc.) and Gretchen just so happens to fall into this batch of overly talented individuals. The singer/songwriter, originally from Richmond, Virginia has been active on streaming platforms since 2017, but I’m a firm believer that she’s about catch her stride and take this thing to a whole new level. Today, Gretchen is making her debut …

Blue Phase – [Ash Leone]

From the very moment I heard Ash Leone’s voice, she quickly became one of my favorite artists of all time. I often times make comments like “this person has what it takes” or “be on the lookout for this up and comer”, but if there was truly one person who I had to bet all of my chips on, it would be the Philadelphia native who’s been taking the industry by storm as of late. Back in November of 2019 was the very first time we featured Ash on our pages. She made her Lyrical Lemonade debut for her song, “Physical” which has been putting up some amazing numbers on streaming platforms. From there on, she’s released remixes and a plethora of singles that all inevitably brought her to where she’s at right now. Just last week, Ash decided to drop her debut EP entitled, “Blue Phase”. The announcement of a brand new EP by the singer/songwriter was met with a lot of eager excitement which seamlessly translated to a warm reception on drop day. I have the tendency of over hyping things which is why I really wanted to take my time to listen to this whole entire project …

Paradise – [Ash Leone]

Once Ash Leone started dropping music under her new artist project, I instantly knew that this girl was going to be a force in the industry. With the latest release of her song “Paradise”, Ash just continues to prove me right in every way. There’s a select group of artists who have the ability to make anything they sing on sound amazing and Ash is in that group. Her soulful and striking vocals are second to none and soon enough, the whole world is going to take notice. This brand new offering by the 23 year old is a ballad that needs to be played more than once. The emotion and sincerity Ash sings with cannot be absorbed in just one sitting, which will cause you to throw this one on repeat for a while. The track details the relatable feeling of realizing that the special someone you once held near and dear is now someone you need to leave in the past. Ash articulates this feeling extremely well over stellar production and heart-cutting lyrical content. Ash killed this one, just like she kills everything she decides to drop. I’ve attached the Spotify link down below to “Paradise”. Give it a …

Physical (OddKidOut Remix) – [Ash Leone]

Back in November, the pages of Lyrical Lemonade were introduced to an up and coming singer/songwriter named Ash Leone. The Philadelphia Native has had a busy last couple of months as she was featured on Dave East’s album and shortly after, released her debut single entitled, “Physical”. The emotion driven, heartfelt ballad has been taking off in every way that you’d hope for. In the 2 months that it’s been out, the track has already garnered over 50,000 streams on Spotify without any major playlist pushes. This is just a testament to Ash’s fan base and stellar team behind her.  Since the song is doing so well, it only makes sense to continue pushing it in as many creative ways as possible. This week, Ash Leone dropped a remix for “Physical” and enlisted help from well known producer OddKidOut. What makes this team up so legendary is the fact that Ash and OddKidOut actually grew up in the same hometown and have been great friends since high school. The chemistry they have in result of their long friendship can be clearly felt as you listen to this track. What starts off as simple acoustic rendition quickly evolves into a masterpiece …

Premiere: Physical – [Ash Leone]

So far, the start of this weekend has been a very exciting one for music. With so many new releases by some of our favorite names, it’s almost hard to keep up with all of the dope vibes that’ll be blessing our playlists. Just last night, Dave East dropped an unbelievable album with some really dope features from the likes of Nas, Rick Ross, Teyana Taylor, Ty Dolla $ign, Fabolous and Jacquees. After mulling over this project a couple of times, one more notable feature caught my attention that needs to be talked about. On the track “Daddy Knows”, Dave East enlisted help from up and coming singer/songwriter, Ash Leone.  If you don’t know the name yet, it’s about time you start getting familiar. Ash is a 23-year-old artist from the suburbs of Philadelphia, who ultimately ended up in LA, where she resides now, by way of Nashville. For the past couple of years, she has been writing and collaborating with some industry chart-toppers, but now has her sights set on becoming one herself. In addition to her appearance on the Dave East album, Ashley recently dropped her first single this week that is worth every bit of the hype …

Q&A: Kiraly Payne talks new EP, ‘PROTECT MT he(ART)’

With the release of his new EP, ‘PROTECT MY he(ART)’, coming later this month, Chicago-based artist Kiraly Payne will have initiated the next phase of his music career. The EP not only marks an evolution in the versatile rapper’s sound, but it also represents a shift in his overall mindset when it comes to the creative process, ceding his own ego and the notion of proving himself to anyone. Instead, he’s in pursuit of a greater goal, as he puts it, “to make the best music possible”. This next step for Kiraly has been motivated by his experiences in the Chicago hip-hop scene for the past few years. He only wants to see himself and his friends blow up, and doing that, he’s realized, requires the building of community and collaboration. Listen to Kiraly Payne’s new single “By My Side”, read about his forthcoming EP, and the Chicago hip-hop collective he’s starting in our latest interview below: Photos by @kayodidthat — MDR: Tell me a bit about where you’re from. KP: I’m from like Oak park, but we moved to Bolingbrook when I was six. Is there like a music scene there at all? I mean, yeah, but to be …
