New Balance – [Zouli]

Few artists put out their first song and receive raving reviews mainly just because it usually takes someone new quite some time to practice and perfect their sound before they know exactly what strengths to play to and exploit, but for the rare individual or two, it just seems to be in their blood and come naturally to them. When I was put onto Zouli last week, the homie had nothing but great things to say about him and I knew I had to tap in with his music sooner rather than later. Considering he’s still extremely new to the world of music, I didn’t know what to expect, and after reading his Spotify bio, I definitely felt a lot more acquainted with him. Hailing from Montreal, one of the most under the radar yet talent-filled cities in the entire world, Zouli might only be 20 years old, but he has worked hard to ensure his sound is unique and new, not copying anyone even though he is influenced by talents like Juice WRLD, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and others. Being overwhelmed by the success of his first release, he decided to take a bit of a break and …

Luigi – [2KBABY] ft. [Chief Keef]

2KBABY is an artist who I heard so much buzz about, but I never got around to checking out his music, somehow. Although Jack Harlow is an artist who can be considered the face of Louisville rap, there are so many incredible talents hailing from the Ville, and 2K is definitely a name you should keep in your head, and this was made obvious to me after I finally tuned in and realized what I was missing out on. He might still be scratching and clawing his way through the ranks of the music industry, but he already has a solidified foundation in the scene after working with numerous other artists including G Herbo, Marshmello, and others as well as a few other promising collaborations on the way with names like Murda Beatz. Most recently, the song that finally got me to listen up and pay attention was “Luigi”, 2K’s latest track with Chicago icon Chief Keef, so when I saw this record and Jay Pusha-directed music video came out towards the end of last week, I couldn’t put it off any longer. In the instrumental, there are some optimistic, resilient piano keys that are brought to new levels once …

Black Sweets – [E The Profit]

Kentucky is on fire right now between the massive mainstream successes of artists like Jack Harlow, EST Gee, and even 2KBaby, but today a new Kentucky artist is making his debut with Lyrical Lemonade, hailing from Elsmere which is right outside of Cincinnati opposite the Ohio River on the Kentucky side which is a massively overlooked urban area of the state that unfortunately has never really had an artist who is able to captivate the attention of the region, at least not until E The Profit came along and energized a region where hip-hop is certainly not synonymous with the regular culture. His new visual for “Black Sweets” is a fantastic introduction into his sound and style and I am really looking forward to hearing more new music from him, and new visuals as well as he and Rocco Roy created a very captivating video. Keep an eye on this artist and add his track to your playlists.

Vibin, Slidin, N’ Connivin – [Oz Sparx]

“Poundside pop … rocky …. diamond st keem …oz sparx….. sim Santana … Za sosa…. I might be forgetting some but they the young’s catching they waves right now” -Meek Milll on the next artists coming up from Philly, via Twitter Any artist will tell you, that getting that co-sign from one of the biggest artists in your own city, is one of the best things to happen early on in your career. No greater feeling can be felt than getting your art noticed by someone who is known for putting your city on the map. That said, Philly-native Oz Sparx got exactly what he needed when Meek Mill shouted him out last year on Twitter. That was all the fuel that he needed to ignite that fire in him and continue to go crazier than ever before. Here were are, with the release of his latest project, Vibin, Sliding, N’ Connivin, and he is proving he is a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to creating a vibe, or setting the tone for a night out with the gang. Being inspired by the modern greats such as Future, Drake, Lil Uzi Vert & Playboi Carti, Oz blends many genres and touches on many topics …

Pregame Rituals – [2KBABY]

2KBABY is unquestionably one of the most intriguing and naturally gifted breakout stars of the past year, rocketed forward by the visual for his song “Old Streets” that unilaterally captivated his hometown of Louisville, KY in such a fashion that he immediately was thrust into the spotlight as the heir apparent artist to represent the streets of his city as we entered the new decade. Fast forward from this point and 2KBABY signed a deal with Masked Gorrilla’s new imprint “Masked Records” through Warner Music, which was at first somewhat of a perplexing decision for both parties considering both were lean on experience, but almost immediately they silenced any doubt about 2KBABY’s ability or his fans’ eventual reception to him. Most recently 2KBABY unveiled his debut project Pregame Rituals that has already been met with open arms and tremendous excitement from his fans and critics alike. “OLD SOUL” comes second on the tracklist and the ivbeats produced instrumental provides the perfect soulful backdrop for 2KBABY to show off his vocal range and charming and genuine writing style and if the song was not good enough to begin with it features G Herbo whose gritty and streetwise guest verse is a breath of …
