As Chicago’s remarkable festival season continues, you’ve got to be sure you do your research so you don’t miss any of the hottest performances of the summer. Mamby On The Beach is coming up this weekend and with such a line-up, I wanted to share my take on who you should be camping out for this year. Be sure to give the line-ups below a look as well to begin building your own schedule.
This year, Mamby packed their Saturday line-up with a ton of young talent, plenty of which are from Chicago. Some names that stood out on this day’s line-up were Raury from Atlanta, GA, as well as fellow Chicagoans Saba and Ravyn Lenae. It’s cool to see a festival with such interest in the younger wave of artists, giving festival-goers a look at what’s to come for hip-hop in the approaching years.
Mamby continued to offer a wide range of sound into the second and final day of their festival, offering the chance for these artists to show their sound to a not-so-familiar audience. Some performances I’m looking forward to are Flying Lotus, BJ The Chicago Kid, and Sir The Baptist (BJ and Sir both from Chicago as well).
In addition to the excitement from the line-up, Mamby On The Beach also pushes the beachy feel with their “More Than Music” series which offers some unique experiences from workshops to beach-friendly games that makes their festival stand out among the rest.
