Most music listeners find out about an artist in a variety of ways, but as far as I can tell, they just tap in with new releases and run back their favorite songs without giving it a second thought. I guess this is where I differ because even before I became a writer here at Lyrical Lemonade, I loved to dive into their background and see what they were up to before making music as well as reviewing the major moments throughout their career thus far.
Another statistic I find intriguing is seeing their popularity in different countries because considering I’ve never been out of the United States, I just find it hard to believe that places all the way across the world listen to music from America, even though I know that’s totally normal. When I was sent the latest YSN Fab song “Way That I Live” a few days ago, the email came with a press release with numbers and charts the Winnipeg emcee has made it onto, which turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the up and coming artist’s bio.
Alongside staggering numbers like 305,000 monthly Spotify listeners, over 60 million combined streams, 122,000 YouTube subscribers, and over 17 million views on the video platform, I was also blown away at the fact that he has been included on iTunes top 100 Hip-Hop charts all over the world in places like Sweden, Austria, Poland, Thailand, Mexico, Chile, and Brazil.
This all makes sense when listening to his latest track, though, as the beat captures every last ounce of your attention prior to Fab coming in with a dominating performance. His voice is absolutely powerful as he belts out his notes, but his skill set continues to reign supreme as he revolves through a myriad of various cadences that continue to showcase his talents in all of their greatness. After opening for artists like Lil Mosey and Rich the Kid as well as dropping a handful of projects before even being featured in Fortnite, the future is bright for YSN Fab, making it only a matter of time before he sees his name on the charts over here in America as well.
