One of my favorite artists out right now is none other than Sam MacPherson. If you’ve kept up with my writing, then you’d obviously know how big of a fan I am of this budding star. As a writer who listens to copious amounts of music on a daily basis, it’s hard to keep my attention, so any time I come across an individual who is able to do just that, I latch on and never let go. Sam MacPherson perfectly falls into this category.

Today, the LA-Based talent makes it onto our page yet again for his latest single that is truly a must-listen in every sense of the word. With recent impressive songs like, “How Do You Dress For The Rain?” & “Forget I Exist”, Sam keeps his hot-streak going with a new offering called, “Rookie”. I was able to hear this song a little earlier before it’s release and from the moment I pressed play, I knew this one was going to special. Throughout these verses, Sam details the emotional similarities between falling in love and being a rookie; everything is new, interesting and exciting, but at the same time intimidating and confusing. What I love most about this track is the relatability. Everyone knows the feeling of doing something for the first time and somehow Sam manages to make this truth something to look forward to rather than being frightened by.

From top to bottom, this song exudes an energy that is much needed right now. The liberation to embrace the fact that you might not know what’s going on, but it’s okay. The production does an amazing job of elevating every part of this offering which adds extensive replay value.
