About a month back, I was able to listen to one of the best songs I’ve heard in a really long time. As I was scrolling through my discover weekly playlist, an artist who goes by the name of Louis Prince sparked my interest after the release of his song entitled “Ode”.

Louis Prince, (real name: Jake McMullen), an Orange County native decided to pursue music after a brief stint playing college baseball in a small town in Illinois. I was able to grab some quotes from the rising artist and he explained that he came to the realization that playing by the rules of conservatory study didn’t really align with his ambitions. He adds, “I didn’t like being told how to make music in a small town of 3,000 people.” From that moment on McMullen decided to throw all of his eggs into music, briefly moving to LA, but eventually settling in Nashville where he’s been residing for the past couple of years.

It’s stories like these that warm my heart because, without them, we wouldn’t be exposed to such great music. Like I said, the track “Ode” was just released and it’s amazing in every way. The vast complexities that are brought together in order to make this song complete is something to marvel at. It is an experience nonetheless…an experience everyone needs to take part in. The song is so great that Prince’s team decide to drop a music video for it today and I’m so pleased that we’re able to premiere it on our pages. The narrative-driven video is one that you’ll have to pay attention to. The 1970’s horror/thriller vibes are ever so present in this emotion-driven visual.

I don’t want to spoil it whatsoever so I’ll just let you guys check it out! I’ve attached the link down below, so give it a watch and let us know what you think!
