Kenny Muney has been putting on for the city of Memphis since the release of “YTN Freestyle ” in 2016, which received over 2.5 million views on Youtube. The Paper Route Empire signee was hand-picked by PRE chief Young Dolph because of his Memphis trap sound and endless wordplay. Last month, he debuted his new album, Time Is Muney. The 16 track song list features guest appearances from Key Glock, Big Moochie Grape, and Dreezy.
Time Is Muney is a follow-up project to 2019’s Muney Talk. Fan-favorite songs on this album include “Backend Freestyle” with 542k views and “Petro” with 389k views on Youtube. However, “Role Model” received the most attention up to date with 1.8 million views, in honor of his late mentor and collaborator Young Dolph. The song originally landed on PRE’s Long Live Dolph compilation tape, but also appeared on Time Is Muney.
“It wasn’t hard to make the decision to make a song dedicated to Dolph. Number one, he deserved a song because, in real-time, he was my role model. Two, all I had to do was remember him teaching me things I needed to be taught. At the end of the day, he’s my role model,” he assured. “I relate to him so much. So the things I take from his teachings include continuing to be myself because, at the end of the day, there is only one me, and people are gonna love who I give them. I don’t have to change or pretend to make people like me. “
On this project, Muney decided it was time to push himself to the limit, and outdo himself every chance he got. As a workaholic, Muney wants the world to know that his work ethic is unmatched, and he is just getting started.
“You can expect me to put my all on. I’m going to be the biggest, best Kenny Muney you’ve ever seen. It’s gonna be my breakthrough year. It’s the year that everyone knows and loves what I do. My new fans will love me as much as my old fans. I wasn’t created, I was born like this. They’re gonna love it. I’m super relatable and I understand everyone from all angles. Be prepared to get a new person on the stand.”
