A couple of months back, I wrote about Mystery School, a Chicago based duo made up of Tony Reed Jr. and Owen Bones. After listening to their single, ‘Holographic’, there was no doubt in my mind that the two of these talented individuals would be back in 2019 with some new heat for their fans to indulge in; and that day has finally come. This weekend, their self titled album has finally dropped and it’s definitely worth a listen.

What caught my attention after first hearing Mystery School was their undeniable variety and versatility that Tony and Owen possessed. The two of these musicians on their own are great, but once you listen to them together on this album, you’ll understand what makes them so special as a duo. With 7 songs loaded up onto this project, there is definitely no shortage of flavor, groove and down right production genius throughout each track.

I could go on and on, but I’ll let you be the judge. I’ve added the Spotify link below for your listening pleasure, but don’t hesitate to check them out on all other streaming platforms. If you like what you hear, make sure to follow them on their social accounts here and here and congratulate them on an impressive release. Chicago artists have been consistently putting out dope pieces of work; Will they ever be stopped?
