Chicago songstress Sydny August has been a staple in the music community in the city for a minute now, and late last night she released her brand new project titled “Miss August”. I have been a fan of Sydny’s music for a minute now and I have thoroughly enjoyed a majority of her past music, so I came into this release with open ears and eager to see what this tape had in store. My first impression of this project was how dope it’s been to see Sydny progress over the years, you don’t have to get more than a handful of songs into this fifteen song tracklist to hear that she has not only continued to improve what she’s been good at, but she’s seemingly experimenting with her song more when it comes to different types of instrumentals + how she approaches certain songs. This is a decently long listen coming in at forty-five minutes in length, but it’s worth every single minute, especially if you enjoy R&B music that has slight elements of hip-hop as well as just crispy clean vocals. I can keep speaking about this excellent type, but I will let you dive in and judge for yourself, stream this one via Spotify below.
