ICE BREAKER – [Jay Wood]
The city of Chicago is immensely populated with musical talent. Just when you believe you’ve heard them all, another gem emerges. Chicago native Jay Wood is my latest discovery, who is a part of the local collective called FREESOLE. Wood is currently working on his debut project set to be released on all platforms sometime during late summer. Jay is a graduating senior at the University of Missouri (Bachelor of Arts, Digital Storytelling). Jay has used the quarantine period as time to implement acquired digital media skills for his personal craft. For his latest offering, Jay Wood feels out the initial vibe with his love interest on “IceBreaker.” The song is a depiction of the initial conversation a person has with someone they find attractive at an event. The hook sets the scene, while the verses play out different scenarios in how the interaction could transpire. Produced by Moses Mode, the mellow trap instrumental is a perfect match for Wood as he glides on the beat. At a friendly two minutes and forty-nine seconds, the track is highly addictive and suitable for radio play. Enjoy “ICE BREAKER,” the latest single by Jay Wood below!
