Fake Friends – [Katya Mila]

Yesterday we got a new video from rising R&B/Pop star Katya Mila based out of LA. While she may only be 3 songs deep in her catalog, Katya has already built a solid foundation and fanbase. Her latest single “Fake Friends” released at the end of last year, but Katya just dropped the visuals for the sultry track produced by Jaye Locke. The song touches on themes of sham relationships that surround her, trying to identify what’s really real.

Katya has an immaculate voice, this track verges towards a sad yet sensual vibe which showcases her vocal talents. The video directed by Jayoh helps brings these feelings to life, beginning with Katya drowning before being surrounded by fake people in every situation she finds herself in. Sometimes, a strong video can really bring you into the world of an artist. With Katya behind the creative direction on this video, it shows she has a strong visual sense in tandem with Jayoh and Colin Shepard’s cinematography.

We have seen some quality content come from Katya in her first three releases, this video being a major highlight. I’m excited to see how her platform continues to skyrocket once people experience these visuals.
