Tunji Ige has been staying busy recently, releasing three new tracks within the past two weeks. His “Hop In My Whip” freestyle was the first song we’ve heard from the talented Philadelphia artist in a few months, and he quickly followed that up with the synth-driven anthem “DIVA.” Now, he’s back with “DOWN,” a song he produced with Dot Tha Genius. The enticing hook gradually builds into the percussion, at which point Ige takes complete control. Melodic, echoing synths add to the atmospheric feel of the record, and perfectly complement Ige’s vocals. The young rapper continues to push his creative boundaries, and it will be intriguing to see if he can continue to replicate the boundless energy that made his 2016 album Missed Calls so captivating. Check out “DOWN” and let us know if you’re excited for what Tunji Ige has in store for the year to come.
