This is the first time Family Reunion is featured on our pages and the special occasion happens to be the release of her first 2-track EP titled Demos! Jackie Carlson has been making music since she forced to play in a church worship band at 11 years old; fast forward 7 years later and she has leveled up her abilities by currently singing/playing guitar under the name Family Reunion. The stage name seems appropriate considering there is a strange, nostalgic element to her music that arises upon first listen, which may not make sense until you hear it for yourself. Jackie sings about “Missed Connections” on the first song, filled with relatable lyrics about unrequited feelings and trying to keep on keeping on. “Summer” maintains the same relatability from the previous track as Jackie continues to weave her agile voice through different pitches showing masterful range and promising talent. Family Reunion is something you certainly don’t want to miss out on and what better time to tune in than her first EP, hit play on Demos below and give Jackie a follow on Twitter (@FAM1LYREUNION) and Soundcloud  to keep up with her latest music. After listening to this brief debut EP, I think we can all agree getting a full length project from the 18 year old Illinois creative would be lovely. Finger crossed…
