Boss Bitch – [Rich the Kid] ft. [Coi Leray]

Rich the Kid is an artist who needs no introduction at this point, and even though it has been a few years since songs like “Plug Walk” and “New Freezer” topped the charts, he’s not even close to being done creating hits. This was abundantly obvious when he released “Richard Millie Patek” not too long ago, and it’s clear once again with his latest single “Boss Bitch” which he taps Coi Leray for another unforgettable feature from the rising emcee. When it comes to the production from hitmakers TM88 and LNK, they utilize some floating, ambient synths that give a real airy feel to the record before crisp percussion and intriguing drums come in to set the tempo as everything comes together to sweep you off your feet and carry you away into the wind.

As Rich comes in for the hook, he lists off all the qualities he needs in a woman in a very straightforward yet always energetic manner that he never seems to leave behind no matter what song is playing. He continues to list off qualities into his verse, bragging about all of the favors that his girl does for him all while questioning if your girl would do the same. After one more hook, Coi comes in for the second verse, continuing on the theme of listing off what she likes in a man, but she instead incorporates a bit more attitude and assertiveness with her lines, proving that she’s most likely the one who wears the pants in the relationship and won’t take any shit from anyone.

While this might not be the most insane Rich the Kid song I’ve ever heard, it definitely bangs and is a song I’ll be adding to my playlist as soon as I’m done writing. I think Coi shows a different side of herself on this record which is always entertaining to see with someone still early on in their careers, and I have no doubt in my mind that she’s going to go on to do big things moving forward. “Boss Bitch” is the second single off of Rich’s upcoming Summer album, and although we don’t know exactly when to expect it, make sure you play this record back a bunch while we wait and see.
