33476 – [Lavish the MDK]

After being put onto LunchMoney Lewis not too long ago, I decided to dive deeper into his calalog and what else he has been working on. Sure enough, I found out that he actually has a label that he runs, LunchBox Records. One of the artists upon the label happened to be Lavish the MDK, and his music definitely caught my attention. Upon my deep dive, I discovered that the Florida native originally caught wind in the industry back in 2015 on his record “Lottery Ticket” which featured Kodak Black, and another feature he handed out to Lil Baby for his 2017 project Too Hard titled “Vision Clear”. While he may have slipped past my radar, he’s definitely caught my attention now. Today, he is appearing on our platform today with the release of his latest body of work 33476.

For those who may not know, that set of numbers actually represents the zip code of Pahokee, Florida–the place in which he grew up in. Paying homage to his hometown, Lavish reaches into his life in retrospect and speaks on the hardships he has experienced back home. While the sound may be reminiscent of todays climate, it does a pretty good job at fitting right in with the current landscape, while offering a bit of something new as well. By far, one of the best listens on this project would be “Abandon Me”. On the record, he speaks on the aspect of every single time he shows love to someone, they end up exiting his life in some way. This is something that can be relatable to many listeners out there who may be struggling with some of the same trauma in their lives. This subject matter and much more can be found on Lavish’s project 33476 below!
