North Carolina-based artist Cameron Butler is gearing up to drop his forthcoming “Pink Nirvana” project, and the producer continues to build expectations on his latest single “Gang Green.” Known for his experimental, spacey sound, Butler continues to deliver sounds that can’t be contained in any one genre.
His last single “Get Right” showed listeners the more chill side of his production skills, but “Gang Green” brings a more ferocious energy. Backed by live drums and atmospheric synths, Butler leaves the track scorched with his menacing boom bap style flow. Fellow North Carolina artist Crosby picks up the pace on his verse, ambushing the beat with undeniable conviction in his voice. Upon hearing his verse, I had to look up Crosby’s Soundcloud and discovered he just released a project called “Almost Asleep,” which I will definitely have to checkout after this. On “Gang Green”, Cameron Butler proves once again that he’s onto a sound that doesn’t sound quite like anything I’ve heard before, and hopefully he delivers more hard tracks like this one on “Pink Nirvana.”
